Arcing weapons are really handy when the game keeps dropping things on your head.

Which stage is this "Lag Room of Hell" referring to?

Mars is laggy in general, yes, but what I referred to was 5-7th screen of Mars' stage, the first part with ceiling spikes, with laggy platforms that move upward and a laggy exploding rocket enemy.

Link to video Rerecords: 25459 ventuz' WIP stopped halfway through here (ending during the room transition to the room with Eddie in it). At that point, we were 1011 frames faster than ventuz.

AT 1:26 of that video - I think you can get thru this room without killing crab so instead of jumping and shooting.. use sliding, then jump off the platform crab is on off edge. But that'll only save you a few frames.

Not killing him causes quite a bit of lag while the bubble is also there. I did a quick test without killing the crab and lost about 6 frames.

Link to video Rerecords: 27657 Small update: Dark Moon done. There's a load of cutscenes in this part: the only interesting thing starts at 1:06. There are about 12 frames of delay in between two hits in Dark Moon; this was to move to the center, so Mega Man doesn't have to walk there automatically (which costs quite a bit of time). I couldn't think of a faster strategy which allowed me to move to the center (some odd weapon properties didn't help either).

Yes, it will be used during the fights with the arms in the final bossfight sequence. For those arms alone 14 units of Salt Water are needed, and I only have 10 max. This combined with the fact that there are two other bosses weak to it in the same stage (Punk and Mars) mean that there will be a lot of refilling.

Unfortunately, not really. Because Pluto's stage contained a hellish lot of things to manipulate (lots of lag, careful health manipulation and keeping track of weapon energy for the entire second half of the game), I got demotivated and eventually stopped. I don't think adelikat has done anything to it since, either. Real life also meant I got less time to work on it.

I wouldn't say there would never be a TAS of it, but without any assistance in determining when, how and where to take damage and when to use which weapons in Pluto's stage, it'll most probably take a long time until I can get it done.

Taking a look at the game. I'm looking at taking on Venus first, and seeing if that's faster than Neptune. 1443 frames in, so I literally just got started. I'm also seeing that if I can remove the need for the W-Tank.

How are you going to do the L. Knuckle and R. Knuckle bosses then? They combined require more shots of Salt Water than can be available at once, and I don't know if you can beat them both in one round without a W-Tank.

Isn't it's attacks done in phases? You could probably just use a charged Mega Arm and then go from there. Either way, it's not that big of a deal.

Well, it's been a bit over a year since the last WIP, but I've finally picked this up again and finished Pluto's stage. Link to video VBM file

I am utterly in awe by the fight against Pluto. I never dreamed he could be beaten before he reached the ceiling. I also had to watch the reverse final shot 3 times - it was just that awesome.
