I looked around for a topic for this, but didn't see one. If this has been done, then lock it. But anyway, what's your favorite band/singer? I'm personally a System of a Down fan.

Presently, my favorite band is Foo Fighters. This is bound to change in a week or two, because I listen to a lot of different musics.

Probably Blindside, unless I'm in the mood for my many other kinds of music.

I find this ironic because you have an image of a singer as your avatar but he's apparently not your favorite? Anyway, my personal habits vary tremendously, including singers from other countries who I can't understand but I enjoy their music all the same. A quasi-random sample includes Gackt, Tool, Cibo Matto, Guns 'n Roses, Wesley Willis, Korn, Paul Oakenfold, and Pizzicato Five. I like to sing but I'm hardly my favorite singer.

I liked Red Hot Chili Peppers a lot when I put this avatar up. I'm too lazy to change it to anything else. Actually...

I dedicated an entire thread on here to Nightwish, so there ya go. Nine Inch Nails is my other main musical obssession, though I am not liking the new song much. As for others...basically other power metal and industrial groups. Trans Siberian Orchestra is one of my favorites as well...my first exposure to orchestral rock, these guys remake Christmas and Beethoven songs in this style and really keep the "feel" of the originals. Oh, and the Konami Kukeiha Club, if that counts. ^_^ -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

Because it's easier than typing up a list myself, I'm just going to link to my Audioscrobbler page. There you will find the top 50 artists I've listened to since December. Exciting, I know. Though They Might Be Giants have the most plays, The Flaming Lips are currently my favorite band. and Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea is my favorite album ever. Though I doubt many people here are going to agree with me. :)

So... what? I'm afraid I don't follow :x And I don't like Five Iron Frenzy... any reason you bring them up? edit: Oh, I see. Weird, what I remember hearing of them was more pop-punk-ish and not really that great. Hrm.

They practically go hand in hand most of the time, aside from a few songs that deviate from their normal music styles.

Immortal, Dark funeral, Cannibal Corpse, Dissection, Hypocrisy, At the gates, Gates of Ishtar, Mörk gryning, Behemoth, Sorhin and Envilent are bands that I listen mostly to. But then of course there are some other stuff which I used to listen to such as Cradle of filth, Dimmu borgir, Vanitaz, Crematory, Illnath, Inflames, Children of bodom. The list can be made very long. I really do enjoy to listen to demo groups as well. One of my favourit demo bands are Brutal Death from Skoghall/Sweden. To summarize it all I listen mostly to death and black metal. But I also listen to alot of punk, rock (such as Alice Cooper etc.), ballads. Some times even hiphop and rap, but very rarley. Also I still like some of the old techno/trance/goa productions. I'm eating most of it, but mostly it's black and death. :)

Hmm, could we make this into a general music thread? So, new NIN album finally came out today. I listened to the whole thing once, and don't really know how to feel yet...it is a hell of a lot more commercial than his others, I will say that. The second half is much less so, however, and I think I like it better than the first. The Hand That Feeds has grown on me, and I think most of this album will in due time...I'm probably going to still prefer Downward Spiral and Fragile in the end, but this isn't bad at all. Oh yeah, and I've gotten a couple Blind Guardian albums recently. Someone on here (Bobwhoops, I think) pimped them as being better than Nightwish, but I really can't agree. As far as straight power metal goes, they're some of the best I've heard, but I just tend to inherently prefer the symphonic/operatic approach. Supposedly these guys are coming out with an orchestral album sometime in the distant future, and I eagerly await that... -Josh

Albums I am looking forward to : On May 24, Audioslave's Out of Exile and on June 14, Foo Fighters' In Your Honor. A list of all bands/singers with songs I enjoy listening to: Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nirvana, Breaking Benjamin, Cake, Violent Femmes, Papa Roach, Sugarcult, Audioslave, Linkin Park (I admit it, so sue me), Staind, Godsmack, Jet, Trapt, Shinedown, Yellowcard, Modest Mouse, The Killers, Slipknot, Velvet Revolver, Earshot (RIP), Guns 'n Roses, Offspring, Queen, Dave Matthews Band, 3 Doors Down, Three Days Grace, Matchbox Twenty, Seether, Smile Empty Soul, Korn, System of a Down, Weird Al, and Survivor. I probably forgot some. As you can see, I listen to a variety of musics. What I listen to at the time depends mostly on what mood I'm in at the time.

Three things. 1. If you're going to jump like Mario, you should stick your fist up in the air! 2. If you're going to fight like Link, you should hold the sword in your left hand! (unless you're that dumb TV show Link) 3. Isn't Tetris music based on songs from Russia?
