Why "XXX, The" instead of "The XXX"? No way to workaround the sorting problem?
The workaround is to use XXX, The. For me, until the sorting problem can be fixed with a different means, I am for XXX, The. I'm used to it, so doesn't look weird to me at all.

I do not plan to change them. * I still plan to do more work. NitroGenesis: I understand your desire to keep reverting game names because you disagree with it, but please, report all changes you make to this thread. I do not want to confuse a revert as an edit that was lost in the system, ever again.

More updates: ("The" in "Legend of Zelda, The" to beginning, to complete consistency) The Legend of Zelda The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time The Legend of Zelda: Outlands ("." in "Bros.", which wasn't there before) Super Mario Bros. Super Mario Bros. 2 Super Mario Bros. 3 New Super Mario Bros. Yes, "The Legend of Zelda II: The Adventure of Link" is officially wrong (correct title is "Zelda II: The Adventure of Link"), but for consistency, I'd put it this way.

And guess what? It happened again (with BrandonE). I'm starting to think that I should blame myself for this. On the not-so-dark side, I helped uncover a bug in TASVideoAgent's reporting of game name changes, which was implemented very recently. It isn't ready yet though, so keep posting game name changes here.

Now this raises an interesting question. What's more important, using the official name, or modifying names as necessary for consistency? (Wasn't one of the principles that started this whole renaming project that we should always prefer the official names?)

Zeupar made the following changes: Pokémon: Blue Version Pokémon: Gold Version Pokémon: Red Version Pokémon: Ruby Version Pokémon: Sapphire Version Pokémon: Yellow Version Zelda II: The Adventure of Link I made the following changes: Pokémon: Trading Card Game Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (FDS) Even though that Zelda II is on FDS, it's the same as the NES version, right (except for language and stuff)? So US name it is. This unreasonably separates it from the other Zelda titles, but of course the box is "always correct", right? Seriously, I don't know. By the way, TVA now properly reports game name edits. But I think we should keep posting here as a courtesy. Edit: Ilari also edited some Pokemon movies (obsoleted). He also edited "The Castlevania Adventure" (separates it from all Castlevania stuff) and "The Final Fantasy Legend" (separates it from all Final Fantasy stuff). Edit 2: Zeupar changed "Pokemon Green" to "Pocket Monsters Green".

Why should there be an ":" in the Pokemon game names? Gamefaqs doesn't have it.

Are we going by what version the game is? I am just asking because sometimes the games have different names depending on the version. Take Maui Mallard for example. Sorry for the large images, I could not find any smaller ones. and One is the European version, and one is the us version. And in many cases, It may even be know as Donald Duck - Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, although I have yet to find that on any box.

How about cases where the game program and the box and the manual all disagree on the name?

An example would be interesting.

The recent Super Mario All-Stars Lost Levels submission got me thinking as to how [movie 598]the[/movie] [movie 1035]All[/movie]-[movie 1134]Stars[/movie] [movie 1820]runs[/movie] currently published should be named. I am thinking the game name should simply be Super Mario All-Stars, and the branch should be set to the game and any incidentals (e.g. [movie 1035]"SMB3 glitchfest"[/movie] and [movie 1820]"Lost Levels" or perhaps "Lost Levels warpless"[/movie]). Thoughts?

I prefer the way it is - each game is its own individual game, shoved onto a compilation cart. Thus, subtitles make more sense than branch name.
Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.

I agree. I also think that Movie #1826M should be branched in a similar manner.
All the best, Brandon Evans
