Post its snapshot here at first.

And finally, here is my desktop PC desktop: Slightly resized to not take a long while to load, original resolution and file size: 1920 x 1080 @ 5.1 MB Properties: • Clean and tidy desktop • Same background as my laptop • Uses Windows XP 64bit • Custom skin to get rid of the boring looks of Windows XP • Protected by Avira AntiVir and Spybot S&D • Completely in English language (except for the music I listened to when the screen was made... Which is in Hungarian)

Here's my desktop: •Debian wheezy running GNOME. •I generally go through computers fast enough that it's not worth messing around with configuration too much, but I have changed the theme a little •As for GNOME vs KDE, I don't really care. They're all the same to me. •I don't put anything on my desktop. All of my common programs are on shortcut keys, and on the quick launch bar at the bottom. •My main screen is the one on the right, with no toolbars. •Terminal is probably the third most used program on my computer. Except for the file and web browsers.

the desktop is good to use for temporary files which you can then access fast

what do you use it for? just curious, because i don't know what it could be used for.

Terminal gives you access to commandline utilities, which can do some things faster than a GUI can. For example, if you want to move all .jpg files in a given directory somewhere else, in the GUI you'd switch the directory listing to sort by type, drag to select all the .jpg files, and then drag them into the new destination; on the commandline, you'd type "mv *jpg destination". Of course there are some things the GUI does better than the commandline; it's all a matter of the right tool for the job. However, basically any non-graphical work I need to do I know how to do on the commandline, so it scores bonus points for familiarity.

Don't lie! I see the GIMP icon, a panda, two fish, a naked gryphon, a naked cat, another naked cat, a furry eating a watermelon, a furry's head, whatever "fetish-trans...." is, whatever "CHUUU_po..." is, cat tails in "Images", Absol's name, another cat in "logo", "Sonic and Garfiel...", "Kaput Otter", "#furry people that want i...", and more obscure fur references! Your desktop is so furry!

This is not a desktop background you'd expect from me every day! And yes, it's still as cluttered as ever.

I don't play it often, and never played online. I have it because nostalgia (I played the demo of it back when I was on Windows 98).

http://i.imgur.com/LDLqW.jpg Complimented by an on-screen display whose behavior I can't seem to manipulate have since been able to manipulate to my liking, thanks to the assistance of the author of the plugin, kode54. I don't really have a use for the desktop, but that's so much utility and space gone to waste. I might install Rainmeter in order to make use of it.
