I feel that you broke your own rules in 2-1 by using the pipe in the wrong direction. I consider this to be a glitch-warp. You were just lucky that this one leads to the next level section. The run itself was fantastic.

Here is my testrun from 5-5 to 5-8. You know once a Japanese made the run of world4 and half world5 as a continuation of spezzafer's 100%run, so this is an additional continuation. I understand my skill is far from that of NxCy & Baxter but I made this just because I (and many people) want to watch the "completed" run soon. Also I understand this is different from their current run, I started before I know the current run is without 1/1ing. It's my mistake.

I enjoyed this very much, thanks for sharing. Input display + boss music in 5-8 was absolutely awesome!

You can clearly see that effort was put into this movie. Looking very nice; can't wait till we get to those levels :) Btw, I also found our 2-4 WIP on nicovideo: link

We weren't lucky that this pipeglitch leads to the next room, we actually tested it! Joking aside, the restrictions we imposed are: "no left+right warp on the level select screen" and "no 1-1 warps". There are several places where you can warp to 1-1, not all of them involve the pipe glitch. While we obviously won't use the pipeglitch at pipes that would lead us to 1-1, we didn't put a restriction on the pipeglitch in general. We won't do 1-1 warps because seeing 1-1 over and over would get repetitive and you would not for instance see all red coins collected. Using the pipeglitch where it doesn't warp Yoshi to 1-1 still forces us to collect everything in each level. Also, we have used the pipeglitch before in 1-3, 1-4 and 1-7. There were no complaints then. It is true that this one is slightly different as entering the pipe in 2-1 leads to a different room than pipeglitching it, but putting this as an extra restriction on this sort of thing would seem somewhat arbitrary.

Thank you for comments. And I'm also looking forward to watching your run! However, I have a question about that current WIP. In 2-4, why didn't you enter the second flipper from opposite? Am I overlooking any decision?

We made a TAS that completed level 3-2. Then walljumping was discovered and we decided to redo the TAS from 1-6. We are currently are 2-2 again. The WIP we uploaded up to 2-4 was our old WIP, which did not include the walljumping. At the time, entering flippers from the opposite side was also unknown. We only knew how to do it by using an enemy. In the new version we are currently working on, we will enter the second flipper from the other side.

Oh sorry, I forgot that the unknown trick wasn't only walljumping. I should have noticed that in seeing the first flipper entering.

Well... these rules are more complicated than just "no glitch-warps", but still absolutely clear. I assume that you will use every single chance for in-level glitch-warps then -- as long as they save time. This is one of the longest projects, but this run will most probably become the best TAS ever made. Go on with the good work!

Hello. This is one of my favorite games, so I'm looking forward to the complete run. @zvsp I enjoyed the movie, very entertaining. :) And, this movie, mainly because of the level 5-7, reminded me of it when I talked to NxCy via private message about this game. It might have been better to post the information here directly, but I was too shy at that time I guess. :/ Anyway, I'm going to share what I told him; sorry if you already know them. - In the 5-7, there's a 6th flower, and you are actually able to collect it by an egg even though the display won't scroll into there. Since this will make it unnecessary to enter the extra bonus room, this may save some time. - In the 3-Extra there's a 21th red coin; I doubt this will do anything... but eh. - In the 6-4, it's unnecessary to beat the Slime to unlock the key of the pipe in the dark room, as you can easily go over the wall, next to a pipe leading to a next room, by boost-jump with Boo Guy or probably by wall-jump. - After morphing you will be forced to duck until you land on the ground, but you can use tongue to sit up in the air. Again I'm not sure at all this will help in any way, but just information. (and maybe already too well-known)

Thanks for the tips Romi. I'm no taser, but I love this game so much, as it was the first game I ever owned. Anyway I didn't know about those little cheats at all.

Thank you, Romi. This is completely new for me. I just made sure of getting the hidden flower. Other things are maybe a little more familiar, especially 6-4 Slime skip is famous among the real time attack players. Anyway, I can more look forward to this 100% run.

Yeah, I didn't know about that 6th flower either (although I must admit, I don't know the levels beyond where we TASed sofar as well as I should (when planning them, I get to know them really, really well though).

@zvsp Oh, I didn't know, thanks for letting me know that. @Baxter At least prevented it from happening that new information is found after passing the level in question, I guess. Yeah, I always admire taser's efforts put into movies and elaborateness of the movies. So, good luck with the run! :)

Testrun updated. World6 I did use 6-7 gatehacking with an enemy which Carl suggested in his any%run Submission, but I can't manipulate this. In this run it worked out luckily. Is the method shared?

Are you going to do the extra levels as well? I don't have much time now; will post more later.

Yes, as noted before. It seems the finishing point don't become clear.., I'll have some freedom because my run is just an inferior one. I didn't noticed start&select is available to exit 6-8 instead of reset, umm...

The test run looks great overall! :) The only question I have is why did you use door 1 in 6-8? Is it really faster than door 4?

Great work Zvsp! :) Comments: Aw yeah, the spike Baxter in 6-2 /drool. Super baby mario walljumps in 6-2 would've been a bit faster I think, even with getting the red coin. I liked a lot of your antics, like the ground pound trap in the foam in 6-5. 6-7 was very awesome, with many tricks I never thought of. Glad you got the gatehack to work! I'm also wondering why you took door #1 in 6-8 :P Very nice run ^_^

Glad to receive replies from you TASers, thanks. How to treat number of eggs is not enough, I hope it would be a reference.. I forgot to say about 6-8 door: Just because all TASVideos' runs will never select any other door. My interesting :P

Yes, I overlooked some things since I made to middle of 6-3 before seeing your submission. Any idea about enemy gatehacking? (´・ω・`)

You'll have to ask Nxcy to be sure. I think it's just a matter of doing a forward spit on the frame you hit the gate, around the middle of the gate. If it doesn't work, alter your subpixel position like in a walljump. I don't know for sure though.

Would it be possible to have this uploaded to Youtube or some other video service? I can't read Japanese, unfortunately.

I'm speechless, and that was just world 6! Oh, the best boss music in any video game, ever. This run may be better than Carl Sagan's submission. Now *that* is something. If this run doesn't win awards when published... I'll scream. I can't wait for the submission! It's going to be awesome.
