improvement 7 ?! but we're up to 9 since a while now... you might want to update your emulator, and cross fingers if you don't want to start from scratch again (hoping your movie will work directly). as for the desynch, I don't know.

Im not too sure about the game but this is NOT the first time a SNES game has had dysinc...Star fox 2 also has this problem and as such is unable to make a speedrun of ;-; Maybe its due to how the emulator reads the games and natural lag takes effect causing oddites such as dysinc...Ugh...well whatever the reason I know its with the emulator and not your rom ;-;
Im Everywere!!!.....................................Or am I??? Current Projects: AGH on Very Hard (Alpha-Stage 1 done) GSH on Hard (Beta-Stage4 done)

one other thing, i dont understand how you stop and restart a record. i mean, i make a level. i stop. 3 days later i want to make the next one. how i can take my old job and continue it whithout loosing a frame? if you have a link for that? ps: i'm using google translation for some word so sorry if it's bad ones, and say it to me.
You mean resume recording? Playback the movie with Read-Only unchecked, then load the savestate. Oh, and welcome to TASVideos!

i mean i have to see the record and continue by myself, pausing the game before the end of the record or when i load a save state the record i have done is not erase and i can continue from when i have stop, with the same frame count? have i to record all the levels separately and make a video mix? can i start my record from the ' new game point ' and record it to the end without viewing all my job before continue. so if i save state my record at frame 2458 ( example ) when 3 days later when i continue i'll load the save state and do ' movie record ' i dont want to loose all i have done before.. to resume google trad say me : I want to start a record and back without losing what I did to the frame near. how to guide needed!! i dont know if anybody have the time to chek my values ( your have more xp than me for values cheking and i'm not sure about mines and it could be cool if i was sure about them, speed ones in particulary ! ) i dont want to make a wrong job. thanks for the welcome :)

You're welcome. I'm actually not very good at address searching, though. Link to video

Mangus, When you finish recording for a day, make a save state. Then when you want to work again, make sure, upon loading the movie, That 'read only' is unchecked. If you forget I believe the standard shortcut is Shift + 8. Then load your save state and continue recording.

You can save a state right from the Read-Only movie while watching your own progress. Pause it at the frame you need to resume from, 1. Save a state inside this movie 2. Toggly to Read+Write (Q key by default) 3. Load that state (you'll see the Record Status Icon) You can swap steps 1 & 2.

When I am looking for speedvalues I usually do it this way: 1 - Start with 0 as compare value for all RAM addresses (this is usually default) 2 - Make sure you are comparing signed 2byte values 3 - Start moving forwards in the game and pause emulation without stopping moving 4 - Find all values greater than 0 (should be quite many and they will become the compare value for each address respectively) 5 - Resume emulation and stop moving 6 - Change so that you are looking for values that are less than the old value for each address and search again (now you should not have more than 100-200 values to look at. 7 - When standing still, check if any values change, if yes: they are not the speed value and can be excluded From here look at the remaining values while you are moving around to see if anything matches. If not, repeat from step 2 but use signed 1byte values. [Note: the size of the values will vary depending on which emulator (console) you are making a TAS for] There are most likely more advanced and quicker ways to find these kinds of values, but this method is really easy and quick to grasp. (At least I think so)

This seems to be quite a hard game for a first TAS... There is for sure no obvious solution for avoiding the obstacles while maintaining high speed. These values may help you: 7E09C4 - characterX 7E0ABC - characterY The LevelX you found seems to be the camera position. One recommendation: create backups, many of them... I recommend you to copy your movie file every time you got a difficult section done. If you then load a bad savestate, all you need to do is copy the file back. (You may name them wip1, wip2, wip3, ...) If you were using Snes9x 1.51, I would recommend you to upload some of your WIPs to Microstorage, but I think you'll need to use some provider like Mediafire for that. We'll help you spot mistakes then, or give you tips for better strategies.

for prehistorik man there is a post on this site, with a desync at 24k frames if i remember. i have allready find a vidéos tasing 101% level from stage 1 to 1st boss : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBcAZ0CKQGA this one will help me, but i dont want to clean the stage a 100% or 101% :p it sould be too much hard for me. the hardcore one will be level 3, need ot collect 15 diamons.. backup my work is a good idea ! i'll give you what i've done for now to so you can see my mistakes.. EDIT speed value could be 7e1010. stay to 0 even if i jump. moving from 0 ot 4.

ok i have re- made stage 1 with backup. there is 4 of them 1 before 1st mobs ( 2 ) http://www.mediafire.com/?ht6hmw0k5homfod 2 after those mobs http://www.mediafire.com/?rs678z93yxf7o7l 3 before 2nd mobs ( 2 ) with 'landing jump' over spikes at the frame near http://www.mediafire.com/?qvded6q9gb3nsgt 4 end of the stage http://www.mediafire.com/?33du2r8udx5a4fu with that, you have the 1st level and all the dificulties ( winning 5 frame when i don't jump at random over the spikes at 3 ) of this level, i think. i loose some speed ( 3 instead of 4 ) when i jump 4 times ( 2x2 ) after killing mobs without finish in the wall :/ sry for this bad host for the upload (pubs, not direct link.. ), mirostorage seems not work with me ( Error: unrecognized format. ) i stop here for now ! i'm waiting for your agree/advices/errors seen ps: about my english? readable or really hard?

I think it's clearly understandable what you are writing (though I'm also a non-native English speaker).

Magus, If it will make you more comfortable to talk and receive replies in your native language, I believe there is a French forum on the site. You could always post there or just post in French with a small translation so the English people can help you out.

OK, let's see... It was a good idea to request a WIP this early on, because... I didn't spot any obvious mistakes in the run itself, but... You're using the wrong ROM. One of the rules here is to always use the "(U) [!]" ROM (unless another version is clearly better, for example if it allows additional time-saving glitches.) Most probably the (E) version runs at 50/60 ~= 83,3% of the speed of the (U) version. Some games don't have a (U) version, but this one has. This short WIP was quite good in my opinion. Well, you'll have to start the run all over again, because it doesn't sync with the (U) version, but this were just ~40 seconds, so that won't be that hard to redo. Oh, and you don't need to post all the files, the most recent will be enough. I'm looking forward on seeing more of this game.
