How about it`? Every year we viewers and/or a some certain people of this site would annonunce movies for best timeattack of the year, best obsoletion/ed movie of the year, best entertaining movie of the year etc etc for each category like snes, nes, sega genesis and maybe other games. And perhaps voting for gentlemen of the year here on this site :) Would certainly be a cool thing to do.

well, start making categories then :). they wouldnt all have to relate to the movies, some could relate back to the forums (trolls, most helpful, etc). sounds fun enough... though i wonder if feelings would be hurt in the long run.

hehe sure if bisqwit and others want me to do it then I can do it. But we have to make a descision when to hold this award. I would think December would be the best month. Anyway, if someone else wants to hurry things up that person may begin making categories, because I have no internet connection and will get it about 3-4 weaks from now. From then on I can start working here ;D

I don't categories for worst <something> are good, especially movies. Even if the end result is bad, people have worked to produce it and I don't think it's fair or good conduct to bash those people and/or movies by selecting the worst of the worst. Same goes for forum members too. Trolls crave attention and what would be a better way to give it to them.

should the movie categories be broken down system by system? EDIT: oh, Tombad, i didnt mean anything like that. i just meant that the nominees who DIDNT win might be sore losers or get hurt feelings. doing something like WORST MOVIE or MOST UNENTERTAINING MOVIE wouldnt be a good die at all.

One "worst" category should exist.. "most improvable movie", with the prize being someone improves it.

You might want to only have rewards for things that can actually be voted on. Rather than things like "Shortest movie".

Well, if we can agree on a time and some categories, I think it's settled. We have start a seperate thread for each category where people can nominate others. After the deadline for nominations (say a week), we swtich the threads to poll mode with the top 3 nominations. After another week we see who won each one and just create a page for The First Annual Awards or whatever.

well, then we should decide which awards to keep and which not to. im not really sure how to handle this (voting or just having the judges decide what should be there and what shouldnt)... also, id like to see more added to the others but im fresh out of ideas. that way we'd have more to select and eliminate from. ... i really need to get IRC ^_^

Best Hacked ROM movie can be eliminated since it's mostly a sub-category of the "not published" category. I think the two multiplayer categories should be just one category, with weight given to single-author movies accordingly. Either that or just remove the "Multiplayer with two authors" category alltogether. Longest and Shortest should be removed. That's determined more by the game chosen than how the player recorded it. (And longest would inevitably fall to whichever RPG got recorded that year.) Best PAL movie probably isn't necessary. An idea for a player category: Most Entertaining. Would go to the player who made the best effort to make his movie more entertaining than simply running through each level. (Or maybe that should go to a movie? I dunno.)

If life were an RPG, I'd be an NPC.

I suggest that we should first vote or create sections for nes, snes etc (I suggest max 5-6 sections for each system). After we have agreed the sections for each system, we should wait until either November 1 or December 1 to decide which movies should be part of each section. Because I think it would probably be the best for this site to first create the sections and after that, voting on which movies to be nominated and finally, set a date for the last day a movie would count for a section.
