Actually, the whole ranking is going to be revealed. But I think everybody has a different Top 100; for many, it'd be worth rating the tracks just to discover some new ones that didn't make the list. I have left the rating page up, just use your username and start right away if you want :)
This is a far more interesting list of songs, and at least as good in terms of quality as the #10-#7 selections...and I say that as someone whose favorite series ever is Castlevania.
juef: given that you have all of the ranking information for the previous project, would it be possible to generate a new list that excludes specific games? I do plan to try using the rating page myself at some point, but that'll take a long time...

Ah, there's The Moon! Soooo... what could be left for place #1 and #2 then? Shadow of the Ninja stage 1 hasn't been in the list yet, right? That's my first guess... I have no idea what else to guess. Another Mega Man or Castlevania track?
Had to comment on this, #39 - Super Dodge Ball - USSR Theme:
This song is actually also based on a real traditional Russian song, called Katyusha. You can hear the original here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SLvtP6KMUM
I'm getting a curious Lack of Mega Man 4 - 6 here, those games had awesome tunes as well. But some whine is inevitably gonna come up for everyone, so, whatever, I suppose.

Mega Man 5 and 6 got one song on the list each (Proto Man Fortress and Flame Man respectively). Mega Man 4 didn't get anything (so far), which I find surprising with its overall very good soundtrack (IMO), especially Cossack 3+4.
Regardless I like the list very much. I discovered some impressive music pieces and soundtracks I'd never have known of otherwise.

Can we guess which music are left? I think that we'll see the ending of smb3 at #1.
edit after seeing JXQ's post below: mm2 willy 1 at #1 and smb3's ending in #2.
I will put in my bet for
#2 - Mega Man 4 - Cossack 3/4
#1 - Mega Man 2 - Wily 1
Tunes I apparently like much more than average:
Super Dodge Ball - All Stars
Chip N Dale - Zone J
Blaster Master - Area 7
<Swordless> Go hug a tree, you vegetarian (I bet you really are one)
I'm not sure what could be better than that Silver Surfer song. It's anyone's guess until they reveal #2 and #1.
I enjoyed the obscure titles of this list, as I hadn't heard most of these songs before. I'm really glad this list was made.
I'm astonished and delighted to see so many opinions weighed in here. I agree with a lot of your complaints, both about myself and the list overall.
Consider this, though: more than 200 individual games (204 by my count) had four or more songs nominated in the first phase of this project, when everyone was invited to suggest songs they thought would be deserving of such a list. I would have loved it if a single game was limited to two or three songs, but I can't think of any way we would actually have implemented this. There's no way we could have had time to cut the fat individually from over 200 games and ever had this list happen at all. CV3 alone would've taken months, and I don't think Im exaggerating.
For what it's worth, here's a sampler of songs that didn't appear that I think were worthy: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/20325631/Too%20Bad%2C%20So%20Sad.zip
Oh, MM2 Wily fortress hasn't been on yet either? Well that's a pretty obvious second choice then... it's an OK song, not #1 for me, but I understand it's extremely popular.
I'm expecting to see some Megaman and Castlevania tunes at the top of the list (Megaman 3 intro or Megaman 2 1st Dr Wily stage anyone?).
Called it.
Juef, there seems to be something weird going on with the complete listing of tracks. 115-106 on the complete list are 105-96 on the original list and so on.

That's because the complete listing has the redundant Castlevania 3 songs.

While I agree with the choice for first place, I feel that there are a few glaring omissions on the list as a whole, namely: Final Fantasy I, II, and III, and SMB 1 and 3. I'm really baffled as to why FF didn't show up at all, since they're popular games with great music done by a now-famous composer. Personally, I would have put the rebel base theme from FFII in the top ten somewhere...

One of my personal favorites, cheetahmen II, ranked around 1100. :(

I threw together a quick Python script to go through the result list and filter out popular games (based on a hardcoded exclusion list, not by measuring how many times the game shows up, since that would be moderately difficult). /tmp/t.txt is the contents of this page, minus the ranking numbers (achieved by doing :%s/\d*\s*// in vim).
# 1: Silver Surfer, track #1
# 2: Duck Tales, track #7
# 3: Solstice - The Quest for the Staff of Demnos, track #6
# 4: Mouryou Senki Madara, track #2
# 5: Super Dodge Ball, track #10
# 6: Blaster Master, track #2
# 7: Shadow of the Ninja, track #7
# 8: Gauntlet, track #5
# 9: Adventures of Bayou Billy, The, track #2
# 10: Mr. Gimmick, track #2
# 11: Shadow of the Ninja, track #11
# 12: Blaster Master, track #4
# 13: Shadow of the Ninja, track #4
# 14: Super C, track #1
# 15: Gremlins 2 - The New Batch, track #3
# 16: Smurfs, The, track #1
# 17: Dragon Warrior III, track #26
# 18: Overlord, track #1
# 19: Hero Quest, track #1
# 20: Rollergames, track #7
I note that the #20 entry on this list was #116 in the original ratings -- in other words, the 14 games or game series in the exclusion list managed to fill in almost 100 songs in the top 116.

Did that many people really play Shatterhand and Journey to Silius growing up? I'm skeptical about the nostalgia factor (which is what we're really concerned about, right, "the mere exposure effect") affecting those two in particular. I might just be out of touch though. For my own part, I had never even heard of either of those until a few years ago.
