This video was recorded on FCE Ultra (the modified version, available on this site).
This is for the infamously awful NES role playing game, Heroes of the Lance, well known for its sluggish controls and boring gameplay.
The game runs from beginning to end, aiming for as fast a time as possible. In order to do this, I avoided fighting most enemies simply by leaping through them (resulting in damage). The only bug I've exploited is a small glitch regarding a door's location near the end of the dungeon. You can enter a door without actually being near it.
The toughest part of making the movie was mostly just finding the route through, then following it as quickly as I could. The only enemies that really gave me trouble were those dragons - they're tough to jump through (though I managed it once) and they hit hard.

Bisqwit: Rejecting because this movie doesn't seem to interest the watchers enough.

I think the enemies definitely could have been manipulated better, I mean sometimes you jump through without delay or taking damage, and other times on the same exact type of enemy you let it push/bite you for a while before moving through. And you claimed to have jumped through a dragon once, which would speed this run up considerably. But anyway, this game strikes me as maybe not the best for a time attack... edit: I hate typos. And maybe I somehow missed where you jumped through a dragon, it looked like they all delayed you.

Nicely done, but I dunno. . . I think the enemies could've been manipulated a little better, too. You jump through one dragon, and get mauled by another, it seems. Same goes for a lot of other enemies, too. . . My Vote: No. Reasons: The enemies could've been better-manipulated. But otherwise, this is a decent speed run. Advice: Save States are your friend. Even more than you know. Heh.
I'm not that hard to find... if you know where to look. -=( http://jolikmc.tumblr.com )=-

you said the toughest part was to find the best route, why dont you remake everything now and concentrate on those little improvements? it has to look impressive after all, you cant get it right on the first try. i didnt watch the run, but i know how bad this game is. if you can make it entertaining and fast please consider remaking it..

I'm going to have to go with everyone here: some of the damage you take looks very sloppy, and looks like you could have jumped through a lot of them. I also noticed that you decided to engage a dragon in combat, but didn't do so until he was in a corner; take him out as soon as possible, and when you do so, make sure all of the hits connect. Also, are you sure you could enter doors as soon as possible? It looks like on many of them you were in front of them for several frames before you stopped to go through. Plus, the ending seems to require some input to get through all the way. Consider ending the movie later to get through it all. I also know you can get through menus and such much faster than that. Frame advance is really nice for that. Consider using Tanis for running through. He has one less hit point than Caramon but is much closer to Goldmoon. Less character navigation.
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

Ugh - sorry, but no, and it's not entirely your fault. A cook is only as good as his ingredients. I'm not sure you can make this one pretty.

Jumping on the 'why do you breeze through some enemies and take a little while for other enemies' bandwagon. Voting meh mainly due to the fact that the game doesnt offer much entertainment.
