That's why I only stick with single keys, and I think the 0 NumKey is the closest one you can use as of now. It hurt my right-side pinkie alot though while holding it and playing with my joypad.

When the emu is paused and we're doing an action while paused, I.E. loading a savestate, we don't know if the action was really done or not. The only way to know if it happens or not, is to let the emulator play 1 frame. I think it will be best if we could configure movie directory. Right now, it seems to only put the file in ROMs dir.

When recording AVI, I noticed that when frameskip was set to 2, it records the AVI at 60 FPS with duplicated frames. Normally, at frameskip 2, it should record at 20 FPS without duplicated frames.
OK, to do that I'd have to make the frameskip not changeable while an AVI is being recorded, but that's not unreasonable. .
I didn't know it was possible during a movie, but I meant when the frameskip was settled before recording into AVI. At frameskip 0, it records all frames. At frameskip 1, I think it records 1 frame then copy it then a new frame, copy, etc... when it should be 30 FPS. At frameskip 2, read earlier Frameskip 3 ...... .... Until frameskip 9. VBA works like Snes9x but I preferred how FCEU handles hotkeys for loading savestate and saving. Pressing shift+Fx for saving or Fx for loading isn't clean. Right now, if I want to use all slots, I need 20 keys(some may be used twice but that's not good). In FCEU, you need 10 for slots + 2 for saving and loading that selected slot which is a lot better. (It's not that it is bad but I am used to it and I think I am not alone thinking that)

FCEU gives you the option of doing it the other way, too. It's nice to have options!

I didn't know that but yes, it's better to have more options.

VisualBoyAdvance does have that "load most recent" thing, which is helpful when I forget which state I'm using, but it has bullet-proof recording anyway so it doesn't really matter.

When I unchecked read only, I would like that it remains unchecked and vice versa. It's annoying when want to resume a movie, I must always uncheck it.

The movie directory is automatically set to be whatever directory you last (or maybe first) recorded a new movie into. At least that's what it used to do, and I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. In the meantime, you can change "movieRecordDir" in the vba.ini file to customize the default movie play/create directory. I agree the read-only checkbox staying that way would be better, I can do that. Same for alternate save state modes. And I'll see about displaying messages while paused - there are several subtle problems with doing that, but I should be able to work around them.

I would also like to be able to hotkey Ctrl(frame advance) and Shift(pause) as well as having save/load state hotkeys(I use f1 for save and f4 for load in FCEU). Another feature of FCEU I would like is next/previous save state hotkeys. When I'm recording I just press numpad+ to go to the next save state after I've done something I want to keep, or numpad- to go back to my last save. I'd also like to say good work for getting us this far. Thanks! =)
If for honesty, you want apologies, I don't sympathize.

(ill put this here too, in case nitsuja doesnt read the forum itself) BUG CRUSH report: In Wario Ware Inc (CRC 2e (2e), gamecode AZWE): Load this sram save : http://rapidshare.de/files/1466502/ww.sav.html (has the needed level unlocked) choose GRID choose second guy from top in vertically middle row choose first from left, second from top (or bottom). CRASH'D This does not happen with the regular VBA 1.7.2 and only with your (nitsuja) rerecording VBA. (version 9b) Please investigate, thanks!

Hey everybody, I just found a great way to erase your Author and Description information. Start by removing a movie file from your movie folder. Then type its name into the Play Movie dialog (if it's the same name as the game, it'll already be there), and without clicking Refresh, move the movie back into the folder and click OK to play it. The next time you go to play it, the Author and Description fields will be blank! This is especially annoying to fix because VisualBoyAdvance doesn't let you change the Author info, so you have to hack it in with some external editor. I think it's obvious why this happens, too.

I'm so pissed. How the hell do you start recording again when you took a break? I stopped the movie and decided to work on it again now, so I loaded the movie and pressed F3 to load my recent save and it said rewinding to 3 or something. And now it's all f-ed up.

If you want to start rerecord again simply start the movie and uncheck the read only box. From there just load normally.

I tried to test the emulator on windows 95. It required a few dlls and then it got an error message. Something related to KERNEL32.dll. Any way to fix it?

... Windows 95? You do realize I just said it outload in disbelief, and when I did, all of the children in the room began crying.

Win 95?? o_O Since VBA requires some fast machine that can run any common OS, why Win 95?

I'll look into these as soon as I can... Nightcom: You have to uncheck "read-only" either in the movie play dialog or from the menu after you start playing it, then either load a save state like normal or choose "continue recording from here" from the menu. Fortune: At least Windows 98 is required, no way around it that I know of.

You sir, have the most interesting definition of fun I have ever heard. And by "interesting" I mean "damn scary." I'd hate to see what you consider a practical joke...

Version 10 is up. - fixed an existing buffer overflow bug of GBA mode 0 graphics rendering that was causing crashes - made the read-only state of a movie remembered after closing the dialog and across sessions - made the movies directory configurable in Options->Emulator->Directories... - updated the version info in the about box to include the re-recording version

Hey, I just noticed that VisualBoyAdvance won't let me assign a key to a function if it's already been assigned to another function. Why is that?

Well that's strange, because I remember being able to assign multiple keys to one function before. I think it should give the warning, but still assign the key.
