Hai thair! What's your favourite smartphone game? I think a lot of people like wordfeud but I installed Paladog a few days ago and I have played it non stop! Feels quite rewarding every time you uprade your Mana, Meat and your soldiers. Anyone who has played it will probably agree that Pinky the Dragon was a letdown. I expected more from him knowing he costs 300 000 gold units :( The wizards are the best.

The games must be ported to an exe-file to TAS.

Well, one of my favorites is Air Penguin. Short and addictive.

I really hated the experience of playing on any smartphone. Something about the "controls" if you can call them that, annoys me deeply.

Angry Birds? Heavy luck manipulation!

I've only played the Chrome version of Angry Birds, but there's no luck manipulation necessary, is there? Just shoot birds in the right direction at the right speed and everything should work out.

Games designed for it are alright, but I can't stand trying to use an emulator with only a touch screen and tiny keyboard. :| Makes me want one of those PSP phones, but I don't buy Sony products...

I'm curious to know why. Perhaps because of the rootkit fiasco? Even without going to the discussion of whether it makes sense to boycott an entire conglomerate because one of their branches did something heinous (possibly without the knowledge of any of the other independent branches), it seems to be a rather futile endeavor. Not only is not Sony going to notice you don't buying their product, but ironically you probably are buying their products (or at the very least buying products that Sony shares part of the profits). Perhaps you bought or went to see a movie by Columbia Pictures? Yup, the money goes to Sony. Perhaps you have bought a game by Psygnosis? Again, money goes to Sony. Or maybe a game by Square Enix? Part of money goes to Sony. A movie by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer? You guessed it. If you buy any piece of consumer electronics, there's a pretty good chance that parts of it have been manufactured by Sony or one of its affiliates. The list goes on.

The rootkit thing was one major reason. There's also the Lik-Sang incident, the PS3 OtherOS nonsense, BD+ and the mandatory encryption on Blu-ray discs (your home video footage of your kids certainly needs DRM, right?), phony movie reviewers, exploding laptop batteries, huge breaches of personal data including credit card numbers that they try to sweep under the rug, and all the little things they do all the time, like how practically every model of every one of their products has a new, incompatible, proprietary standard USB connector and memory card format.* Basically, it's because they're huge jerks that screw over their customers much too frequently for my liking. Of course it's difficult to avoid ever buying anything they make, since they make all sorts of tiny components, but I do my best. I don't buy a lot of media/electronics to begin with, so it's easier than you might think. None of your list, for example. Do you vote? You realize that whenever you do business with any corporation, there's a decent chance that money is going to support one of the other candidates? And that one vote is a drop in the bucket? But you do it anyway, because you have your vote and you don't want to waste it. And if enough people do that, what do you know, it starts to make a difference. Same scenario. Vote with your wallet, as they say. Maybe Sony won't notice my actions as an individual, but that doesn't mean I'm just going to ignore all their wrongdoings and keep giving them my money. And of course, I try to educate others as well. Read over that article and the sub-pages linked from it and tell me you're not at least a bit irked. (*yes, this is an exaggeration, but just barely. Look at PSP. New model? New cables! New PSP? New memory card format! And "Universal" Media Disc, that only works with certain models of one device...)

The same can also be said of most other big conglomerations and companies. They are there to make business, and sometimes they play dirty. It sucks, but that's economy. If you were to boycott all companies that have played dirty with their customers you would have to move to a cave and live of carrots you grow yourself. The other possibility is to realize that they are not going down regardless of what you do (and in fact, they are getting part of your money whether you want it or not), so you might as well enjoy the good things they offer you, such as video games, consoles, consumer electronics and so on. Avoiding eg. a game just because it's made by the eeevil big corporation is just depriving yourself of something that you might enjoy for an inconsequential reason. Also realize that not all people working for said companies are evil, but honest workers who want to make good products. Boycotting them is not going to help them nor their families.

I know there's at least one smartphone emulator around, for Java ME games; I think it's called KEmulator, and it might be able to be modified to support tool-assistance, if only the original distribution site could be found, to see whether this thing is even open-source: http://www.chaaps.com/play-mobile-games-on-your-pc-with-kemulator-lite.html I also think there's at least one Android emulator (although packaged with the Android SDK), and the Windows Phone SDK may even provide an emulator for that platform, although in both cases tool-assistance would be difficult to achieve. EDIT: It turns out that the emulator is not only closed-source, it's also something you had to pay for to get the full version; however, all announcements were made on a now closed Blogsome account: http://web.archive.org/web/20090219234314/http://lyo.blogsome.com/kemulator/ This is the manual: http://web.archive.org/web/20090220062801/http://lyo.blogsome.com/kemulator/manual/ This is the third-party Bluetooth library for Java SE: https://code.google.com/p/bluecove/ Still, it's the only Java ME emulator I know about...so maybe this can be binary-hacked like Famtasia was...

There were a few Shining Force games released only for mobile phones in Japan. I'd love to be able to play them, but there is no emulator, no way to import them, etc.

LOL.
Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.

i don't have a favorite smartphone game because i don't like to carry around a tracking device in my pocket that the government uses to track my every move. smartphone games aren't very good, i tried to slice some fruit and shoot birds but it wasn't that fun

Yeah, the government is very interested in your every move.
