If the only difference in the J version is text speed, I'd prefer U. At least I can make some sense out of the story, even if it's horribly out of order.

people who come here shouldn't be here for seeing a game story.Besides, the sotry is gonna be wrecked up real good and would look pretty confusing with all the stuff done out of order.People who know the game(and its story)take the most out of a gigantic hourslong TAS that this will probably end up being.
I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

See, this is a test run. In the sub, I was going to get a sword, but it wasn't lining up right. It would be faster, but w/e. Am I taking this seriously? Yeah. The question is, what have you done? Questioning me won't make me work faster. Honestly, this TAS is a pain in the ass. This isn't going to be optimized whatsoever. This is TAS. Tool-Assisted. I'm playing with a keyboard right now. This isn't going to be my legit TAS. I've already had to start over, and I dont think this is even going to be the real run. So I just don't see a point perfecting little rolls and such. I'm not around because I'm busy in ZSR or working on this project.

Response to everything posted in the last page: WE KNOW, THIS IS A TEST RUN. The goal is to further construct the route, and perhaps generate some hype. Constructive feedback: Appreciated Clarifications: Fine 2 second optimizations: We don't care. It's obviously unoptimized. You aren't contributing anything to the discussion.

I'm somewhat surprised there isn't a better island on Link's path to get an easy 100 rupees
We can probably gather 4 red rupees faster. We are aware of this possibility. It's not worth manipulating during testing, and I'm not going to bother finalizing that until we have forest water timing down.

Can we superswim into the Isle of Steel for some quick rupees?
Thanks for constructive feedback, we'll put this on the consideration list. Superswims take about 15-20 seconds to get going a decent speed.

Brilliant observation. I'm sure we weren't aware of this.

Also why not get the leaf when you get the forest water anyway?
You don't have anything to kill chu jellies to spawn the leaf and you don't have a sword to zombie hover to the leaf.

Oh yeah how dumb of me not knowing that this is just a test run. How could I not know this? Maybe because nobody said a word about it?!

Hey, just saying im starting to TAS tww. It's already annoying, but I'm starting to get the hang of it. FoF Early causes Early Bombs to glitch, so thats out. Tingle Tuner is needed badly, just realizing that. Oh well
^ no word that it's a test run. In both youtube videos, nothing about it being a test run. I am SO SORRY that my crystal ball is broken. -.-

No problem Mugg. Any help is, well, helpful. I would like everyone to officially know that this is and always has been a test run, so you don't need to say it sucks or whatever. Edit: Also, the turning on the superswims is strange. It's not as simple as get the perfect angle to start, because no matter how hard I've tried, the angle is just to fine to get. I turn at certain times because in order to keep speed, it seems like a turn must be for the duration of one stroke for Link, or else you lose quite a bit of speed.

About the Japanese version: It has some pretty large version differences from the US version, mainly a much longer quest for one of the triforce charts and some of the best places for rupees are gone. While the text difference overall probably still saves time (still being timed), because of these differences I think the U version should still be used, considering faster gameplay should be more important than faster text.

Unoptimized (yet) or not, the works in progress look very cool. :) Nice work. (On a somewhat gushing fangirl note, I'm also happy that one of the guys who broke 7th Saga is helping with this TAS.)

For the first time, I agree with Slowking. You stated nowhere that this is a test run. And you Kirkq talk about being constructive and whatnot. Do you think you are helping the matter when you are being excessively sarcastic towards SoulCal and Slowking? If you want constructive feedback, then how about you do it yourself instead of quoting wrongly what a person said and not being sarcastic. And where did I mention arguing about using a J rom? Speaking of which, saying "we don't care" isn't constructive. Ahahbob said basically since tasvideos use rule x, they can suck it. That is why I questioned if he is taken this run/wip seriously. But enough of derailment.

So I think any frustration or offense caused is probably due to misunderstandings on all sides. I also did not realize this was a test run, or I'd have worded my posts differently. Many of us are just wondering or curious--it's more the nature of how runs are normally critiqued here (at least in my experience). If you do not want any suggestions, then there's no reason for us to offer them. If you do want help in some way, there are people here glad to offer feedback and maybe test some ideas. Just let us know.

Seriously guys. If you had just said that this is a test run, nobody would have talked about changing angles during a super swim or sub optimal rolls. You have wasted all our times. If it's just a test run, the only thing that can be commented upon is the route.

Let's just focus on Wind Waker instead of turning this into a flame war.

Forgive me for asking, but has anyone tested if it's possible to fish the Triforce shards out of the water prior to either getting the respective treasure chart and/or having it decrypted?

The triforce shard does not exist until the chart is deciphered (Tingle) and opened. The chart cannot be opened unless you have the sail. I need to get around to posting more of these restrictive conditions.

Finished FF1 with about 15:10 left on Forest Water. Link to video Edit: Just got bombs. 14:03 Letting Tingle out took 3 seconds... Wow

Ok lets stay calm here... 1. Link spazzes in the water 2. Link ejects at high velocity into the ocean 3. Link enters a submarine in the middle of the sea 4. Link gets caught 5. Link is teleported to Forsaken Fortress dungeon ... wat
