Yeah, I like this game. But it's been a while since I played it.
Are there credits to trigger and how?
I can only say it will be a problem to run city trial mode if you aim for all the missions (*cough* wait 3 hours *cough*)

Sorry about the delay. Here are some tricks and glitches and rules.
Tricks/Glitches
1. On the Air Glider, Use Bulk Star and when you are in the air constantly press A (I forgot the gllitch... but you can probably try it.)
2. For the Drag Races, I recommend for the 1st, 2nd, and 4th course (if I remember correctly.) that you use the Rocket Star. However luck manipulation might be required to get more boost pads, due to the incredible negative acceleration of the vehicle.
3. If for some reason you might need the lighting bolts constantly alternate left and right to charge it faster (the faster you alternate the faster it charges)
4. I have heard that on high jump if you alternate up and down you will go higher. I have tried it and it didn't work. I assume I did something wrong
Rules
5. Turning makes you go slower (air or ground).
6. You go faster in the air than on the ground.
7. You go faster in the air if you go straight, except when you force your vehicle down
8. I think if you go on one of those vine things it is as fast as going in the air.
Me too!
I completed this game, and to unlock the credits, I think I had to Complete the checklist (took two years D= ) just to see the credits. After that, the checklist's color turned to gold.
If I'm wrong, I'm sorry, I havn't played it in quite a while...
Here's another post:
You can beat King Dedede in one of City Trail's Missions in less than 15 seconds by spamming the A button while having the Spike ability.
You need to use the Serve Star however...
Also, with the Bulk Star, you can fly indefinitely.
Uh....That's all I remember, Sorry!
you need to complete at least 100 of 120 to get the credits.
We could do the top ride on 1 player, use the purple squares to mark the VS. match squares to get all 120.
City Trial: Complete the Dragoon and Hydra, get 10 upgrades of every stat, eat at least three kinds of certain foods, go for high scores on Destruction Derby.
You could do 2-player Target Flight to get 90 and 200 points at the same time.
High Jump and Air Glider, I would use the Wheelie Scooter.
Have City Trial last for 7 minutes max.

I agree. But you have to remember that Hydra takes 15 seconds to charge. And the vehicle runs on the charge. If it runs in to a wall it will lose the charge and you will have to start over. Plus it is hard to unlock those vehicles.

Yes, I know I didn't list 100 squares. I highly recommend the 3 squares that give you one free check. Counting the 3 extra squares, you will need 15 more squares. These are the ones I recommend. You may give me your opinion, if you hate the list don't cuss.
I've finally completed 2 checklists (in real time)! For anyone interested in completing a checklist, here's one problem. I've been told that the purple boxes DON'T count towards 100%; you still have to manually complete the requirement to get it count as done. So if one wants to complete all 120 checkboxes and get a golden color on the list, stuff like "race 100 laps" must be done manually.
So I think a Top Ride - 100 checks run would be the best choice, since each lap is about 10 seconds long, and a minimum of 800 laps must be done, which means about 2.2 hours of a 100% run would be running around in circles. 0_o

Plasma might be good for Destruction Derby, so this could be useful.
I think you're right. You can go pretty fast on the rails, especially if the machines have "run amok" (AKA charge tank running wild).
I like your list, but I was thinking of making one with all of the achievements from the U.S. version and listing how difficult or long I estimate they would take.
I also was planning to make a run of City Trial that earns as many achievements as possible in 5 minutes (and the stadium event too). It would be a good first step to a City Trial TAS (which I don't plan on making).
Great news! A 4 player run will reduce the laps needed for the 100 lap achievements to 25 laps/course! How did I know? I paid my friends $10 each to play Kirby's Air Ride with me for 25 laps, and in the end, the achievement was counted as done! So this could be a 4 player, 33.3% run! Why not 100%? That's becuase I'm only doing Top Ride. Also, a certain achievement makes it too long.
I think all three modes have the potential to make a great run. There could be runs on this site for Air Ride, Top Ride, and City Trial (all getting 100/120 boxes, since some take too long to be entertaining).
I might make a City Trial any% in the future, or at least work on some test runs.
About that, I just realized that I still need to do 100 laps in Free Run. Since 1 lap takes an average of 5 seconds, would anyone be willing to watch it?
The order I'm doing is: Top Ride, Time Attack, Free Run.
Btw, I discovered that the game gives a 1 frame window to press start and exit the stage as soon as the race is over, allowing you to skip the replay/results screen and still get the achievements.

I just completed this game over the summer, and got a really good appreciation of it. The ones I would like to see are the challenges for completing Air Ride with certain vehicles, like using Rex Wheelie to finish the mechanical stage (one of the hardest ones for me). I think this would be pretty fun to watch!
Earlier today, I somehow managed to dupe an item during a race.
:PNow if only I could repeat this with the rocket item...
I think I figured it out. When an item spawns, it appears in the air. If it is grabbed before it reaches the ground, it will "blink" briefly before disappearing. If 2+ players grab the item before it hits the ground at the same frame, both players recieve the item.
Edit: Example of a successful dupe:
I suddenly had an idea that could make use of the 3 extra players instead of treating them like filler. While one of the players go ahead, the 3 others could dupe items. It wouldn't waste time, since there's an achievement that requires a player to take 1st place while 2 laps ahead of player #2. Also, the items would help with the 500 item achievement.
While doing some test runs in "Free Run", it seems that pressing "A" for 1 VI on certain VI's gives a very small boost in speed. In all other VI's, it just slows you down. Time to restart the run, I guess. :P
Luckily, there's little to no luck involved in Free Run! Every stage starts off exactly the same; there's no way things like where the green boosters appear on Grass could be manipulated.
Also, according to Link to video video, Sand is the fastest, but it requires going through the sand pit every lap, which I'm sure won't last 100 laps. So the 100 laps would be done on Grass, which should take ~3 seconds for every lap except for the first.
If i remember correctly, couldn't you get the free unlock squares and use it on the bottom right corner? that would unlock the credits. i'm not a TASer so I'm not sure if you have to make them trigger for the run to count or if you need to unlock the credits.
The thing I'm trying to clarify here is what actually counts as 'Reaching the Credits?' if you can unlock the credits and go to the options menu and watch it. is that reaching the credits? or must they be triggered by the game?

You CAN'T do that! The game would NOT allow you to! I told you already. >.>

If you don't believe me, why not try it yourself? You can only view the credits after completing 100 checks!
Really? =0
......
Does the purple sqaures count for 100% too? I'm getting conflicting answers when I asked someone who got 100%.

No. Purple boxes let you get the reward of a mission if it has one but it won't "complete" it. If you used it on the remaining two blocks the counter would still be 118/120. You will have to do it on your own to complete the checklist.

This is not strictly true. You will in fact have a gold checklist page, but the ones that you used the purple boxes on will still have the purple spot. All the green/red ones will be gold
