Wohoo this game works for me! So I started to make a time attack at it. Dunno if it´s the best ever made but this is my first try and there is alot to improve.. Or not depending on how you see things. Anyways, I just found out there is a major glitch in the game which alows you to skip the last 4-5 levels (don´t remember how many exactly). This would save awful lot of time but you will never see the final boss. Would this be ok for a time attack of this game?

It's ok for me. When you've done with the first level, please send me your FMV so I'll do an early review of it.

I only watched the first level, because that's what I can compare myself with. You used a slightly different route than I did, but it might been better than my way. However there were some flaws: - You missed about half a second in the very beginning of the game, because you didn't use the Start key on autofire. The intro screen played longer than it needed to. (Note that when you do this, you have to verify that your recording is correct before you start playing the game - the beginning of the game is the most common moment of desync.) - You collected too many gems. Not only was it slow to collect them (you explicitly distracted and jumped to get them), but it also took longer to count (to gain score) at the end of the level. - At the long dropping down inside the tree, your controlling was bad. You got hurt, you stayed still. Perhaps you tried to avoid gems, but it looked bad. But you handled the flying skull really fast. I'm impressed. I hope you'll fix these problems :)

I will. I know about the gem problem. That i had to many. But I had to collect some treasure chests and the 5 gems too much just slipped in there ;) Yes I know my jumping was a bit bad there but I didn´t know exactly how many more gems I needed at that point. I'll take a mental note of the start screen ;) Hmm yeah I can agree with the falling inside the tree looked bad but I dunno what else I can do. I tried to just fall as fast as possible and the damage taking does not concern the speed. Well I can try to fix this too. Anyways, this big glitch I talked about earlier, in the next tree world (level 5?) you can "teleport" back to level 1. Uhm, the question is if it would be boring to see the first 3 levels again? I will complete the game after the first 3 levels though so it would save much time. Thanks for the feedback ;) Another off topic thing. Did u look at my "Trojan" movie?

Also, inside the tree, you had to wait for a door to open. The door is not bound to timer - it's random. Try different movements before the door appears, and you might have it opening faster.

Ok, but you didn´t answer my main question. how bout the glitch? Would it be to boring to watch level 1-3 yet again even though it would save lot´s of time?

Why should you teleport back to those levels? How does it save time?

Because this glitch, as mentioned, teleports you back to level 1 WITH the 4 damsels saved! This means (don´t know the names of them but I'll name em by number) damsel 1,2,3 and 4 is already saved. So when teleporting back to level 1 and deeating the first boss you rescue damsel number 5! This means the princess will be behind the doors of the third boss and tadaa, game completed. Ok, I haven´t confirm this works but I do have confirmed that the glitch works, teleporting back to level 1 that is.

Don´t know. you are the only so far that has answered in this thread ;) Anyways, as you mentioned about my extra gems in level 1... I have this "problem" in all the other levels aswells.. Like having 206 gems when there´s only needed 200. I can do a perfect run of this game but that will take time.. Like in a month or so. I really should not play atm since I have a big test coming up in 2 weeks. The hard thing about this game compared to Addams Family (where you also needs money) is that I don´t know yet which gems that I can avoid or not avoid.. So much planning must be done if I want to finish each stage with the exact number of gems.. And the stages are kinda big aswell..

Make maps. Or, if there's a screenshot key, I can make maps for you over the next few weeks and then you can use them.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Planning needed, that's what I've been saying :) You can also get gems from monsters if you're lucky. (hint)

Yes I know about the monsters. But mostly it´s better to just collect the gems that is in the stages. Boco: Yeah maybe. Well ;) Someday im gonna finish this time attack and then it´s gonna look real nice. But plz give me comments about the glitch. In one way I think it would be cool since I think almost no one will have ever seen or known about it. On the other hand it could be boring to watch level 1-3 again.

The glitch would be fine with me, too. From what I know about this game the last levels are pretty boring anyway so I don't think it will make much difference :)

And I have made up my mind. I decided that the coolness of the glitch is by all means better then the whole game ;P Will examinate the estimated time saving later but now I have to study.. *bangs books in head to achive knowledge*

Did you watch Snaily's W&W speed run? It looked good.

Nope, can be found where? Didn´t even know there was an existing one.. I got the idea from Bisqwits list at the main page and this ROm works for me. Also this is one of my childhood favorite games ;P

VirtuaNES + Wizards and Warriors Video -- the emulator program required to watch all of these videos + a 17 minute 20 second Wizards and Warriors completion. This is my favorite movie. It's fast-paced, fun to watch, and is a clean run (no emulator tricks like save states or slower framerate, just skill and skill alone)

Ok.. This guy is skilled.. Very very skilled... Well, if I do a time attack of this game I probably will rip off his tour. So if I manage to improve it he should have credits.

I ended this time attack a couple of hours ago. 12:38 I think the time was. Snail (or whatever his name was) had a time of 17:something. And this is my first complete run. v.1 that is.

That's a lot faster than I would have expected. For a v1 no less. How much time would you say the glitch saved?

According to Snails time attack/speedrun/just pure skills it saved me about 4-5 minutes. Let´s see what v.2 has to show ;P When I have time to do it that is..

Well, obviously :) I was really asking how much time did you think it saved compared to doing a time attack of the entire game. It doesn't really matter, though. It's very fast and that's all that counts :)
