Looks good. So this is a 100% run i guess?
not exactly, we started the run with "highest possible score" in mind, but now that I think about it, that would make DK levels boring due to retries to get the required pattern… a 100% run wouldn't take all items in the level; getting all Minis, all cards and possibly all golden stars would already be a 100% I think, so we're not doing that though I didn't think about the DK levels before, that's gonna be a problem with the retries… but I guess "highest score" is still the most entertaining goal, 100% would leave some things in the level which I don't think would look good and is probably worse strategywise too, and any%, while it could have some nice suicide tricks etc, I think it would be boring because this is a puzzle game, and what's interesting is to figure out the best strategy, not how to get to the end ASAP

can someone hex our movie to synch with the newest DeSmuME? it seems to desynch at the end of G-3, when the golden Mini jumps to the goal it jumps too early

Would be interesting to see a 100% run on this game. Having beaten the game (or at least the eight levels or so), a run of this wouldn't be so bad.

I know it's been a while since anyone's posted in this, but I started a TAS (all gold medals) of this game about five months ago, and got to 3-5. I haven't worked on it in a good 4 months and have since lost all motivation to continue, so I'm wondering if anyone here would be willing to help me finish it. I'll start working on it again, too. Anyway, here's a link to a WIP up until 3-5: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LXhWxVPTfBs I can upload the .dsm somewhere, or just send it over Skype or something if someone decides to help out (I really really really fucking hope so)

heh, a TAS of this game should probably never be attempted by someone who’s not a top player at it… I’ve watched up to G-7, it’s a nice TAS but right on that level you make a big mistake, starting a mini in its opposite direction should never be done, the animation loses too much time, you’re supposed to start it straight ahead and manually change its direction, I also thought there might’ve been some other small improvements here and there but maybe not either way I haven’t been TASing anything lately, and I’m not really in the mood to… so I don’t feel like co-authoring it, sorry

I didn't even notice that... Odd. I'll hex that in right away. I'm aware that starting a mini manually then turning around is the fastest way (I did it everywhere else throughout the TAS), and somehow I didn't do it there.

ptorflaxendrosis, so long as you see the mistakes or at least, fix it, then all is good.
When TAS does Quake 1, SDA will declare war. The Prince doth arrive he doth please.

we’ve chatted some on Skype, I’ve pointed out a few more mistakes and in my previous post I was a little bit too destructive, I forgot how hex-friendly this game is, so anything can always be fixed

Yeah, so after talking on Skype, we've pointed out 2 or 3 levels that should be re-done, and a few small errors that can be easily corrected. I will get to hex editing all of that in asap, but for now, here's the .dsm as it stands if anyone's interested. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/420133466/mvdk.dsm
