Hi, I reported a few posts ago a problem trying to see some movies downloaded from this site using Media Player Classic (version 6.4.8.4). By uninstalling and installing codecs I found that whenever I install ffdshow-20050406, the MPC software plays wrong the movies, basically it stops every five or six seconds the video, but the audio play is continuous. However if I uninstall ffdshow, MPC plays fine the AVI files. It happened with Castlevania and Contra for NES. Could it be some issue with the options I enable/disable in the installation of ffdshow? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Thanx in advance.

I used to have this problem as well. Then it magically made it so that I can't seek past a portion of the movie. Now all it does is play the audio faster than it should.

Hmm, I haven't had this problem, but I've heard a recent version of ffdshow is full of problems. If you have that version, maybe you should find a slightly older one.

I am using latest mpc and FFDShow 2005-04-06 and doesn't have any problem. Be sure to not use some filters in FFDShow settings.

I found that if I disable XVid Codec from the FFDShow configuration screen, the movies plays smoothly. I don't know if there is something else installed in my machine which causes the behaviour. Because as far as I know I have installed right now only XVid, FFDShow and Indeco, how can I check if I have another codec installed which I'm not aware of? Thanx

Hey everyone I had similar problems to this, but when I disabled Xvid, it would screw up movies I got from elsewhere using that codec, so I had to install it seperately. I hate installing a bunch of codecs seperately. Now they have another new version of ffdshow, which can be downloaded following this link: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/codecs_and_filters/ffdshow.cfm I uninstalled ffdshow and my old codecs (including Xvid). Then I installed this new ffdshow without changing the options during install, and tried a few videos from this site and some xvid codec-ed videos as well, and they all worked fine with no frame skipping. Just thought I'd let everyone know, in case they are obsessive about codecs like I am.
