Thank you for your time in figuring this out for me. Sadly the way it works I don't think I am gunna be going for it in any of my runs because I don't see it being reliable. Again, thank you for your time.

Ok, but just in case you were to try it someday: you could play this part of the level in emulator (reloading savestate after every experiment, but not resetting console) and grasp the time needed for success (those 1.5s or so), thus upping the probability from 2/105 to something like 1/10.

I'm excited for a Super C TAS, I prefer it over Contra.

I have WIP. 2 player cause lots of lags. So single player is better.

This is awesome! Much more action than in Contra 1!
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.

I got just past the cannon is stage 3 and I got a desync half way in stage 2... I will see if I can do something about it later. And Thanks feos. Edit: My current WIP now that I fixed the desync. Not really sure what happened but I redid from the desync up to Stage 3 Cannon. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/883054667/Stage%201-3.fm2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKQG-NOsf6I

At the autoscrolling stage you would need to shoot very much, while it not causes additional lag, because otherwise this stage would be very boring.

Any reason why this isn't a 2 player TAS? That would definintely make it (even?) more interesting. And why didn't you pick up the flamethrower in the first stage?

I had a talk about the 2p TAS with a friend of mine. He encouraged me to do 2p as well. I agree that it would be more entertaining, but it would be much uglier. Having to die to proceed threw stage 7 very often, the 2p would not have enough lives to continue. This is just my original though, but if I get done with this and I end up with enough lives so that I know that both players can make it the the end of the game, I will redo it. I dont mind this because the best way to get good at something is experience, and doing the entire thing will give me just that. I was originally going to test the time difference between M and F. I started with M and I noticed I got a cool glitch/bug that caused the 4th gun turret on the boss to not spawn. Being that this is more of an entertainment TAS that speed (I know speed is the overall goal though... if that makes sense... it does in my head), I decided to keep the 4th turret feature. Also, yes, I am still unsure if I want to do the boss with M or F. I will see what is faster/more entertaining and go with that one. I think F will come out the victor in the end though. Thanks for the questions. Any other thoughts?

Script: Bizhawk version: http://pastebin.com/6h58nMt9 FCEUX 2.1.16 version: http://pastebin.com/MTs33mtv Emulators: Bizhawk: http://code.google.com/p/bizhawk/downloads/detail?name=BizHawk-1.1.0a.zip&can=2&q= Fceux: http://sourceforge.net/projects/fceultra/files/Binaries/2.1.5/fceux-2.1.5-win32.zip/download (2.1.15) http://fceux.com/zip (interim) Blue crosshair = Player vulnerability spot (it's 1 pixel) Red box = Enemy collision box, touch this you die Yellow box = Enemy projectile vulnerability box (this is what you're aiming at) Green box = Enemy projectiles. NOTE: Enemy boxes change depending on the player action, so if you crouch, their boxes change accordingly. This means when 2 players are active there's a chance you'll see 2 different red boxes if one player is crouching and the other is not, obviously you'll have to determine which box is for who. In 2 players, collision boxes will be darker than usual because it's drawing 2 boxes (one for player 1, the other for player 2). Enjoy!

Glad some one is enjoying my work besides Dunnius. I should have time to finish this over this weekend. Look forward to my first submission. Any advice for what I should put in my submission text?

Just describe key strategies and why you do certain things and separate it per stage. I.E. I jumped at the boss because this saved 2 frames versus not jumping (obviously you don't have to describe everything).

Yeah, the ways you came up with, how you solved every issue you had optimizing the whole movue.
