Monopoly NES has been TASed multiple times on TASVideos, and out of all of them, the 30.03 second one by Acmlm reigned victorious. Until now.
This uses the built-in Game Editor to set my cash to $1,501 and uses the menu to end the game. I know that this is not the accepted way to do it in most people's books, but at least I'm trying.
(Note to encoders: Set the emulator to pause at frame 971, which will show the TAS, and a few seconds of the ending screen.)

Noxxa: I'll handle this one as well.
JWinslow23: I have decided to cancel this submission for reasons explained by many of you in the forum.

It has come to my attention that most people, even though they know this is a TAS, consider this "cheating." Therefore, I'm cancelling the run.
If I could have a tool-assisted real life, I'd... Being a novice, I'd probably load the wrong state, have the IRS AI bankrupt me, and eventually make me want to kill myself and redo 11 years of hard work.

Hey, everyone! If I made an entertaining run of Monopoly NES with 8 computer players, would you vote yes, no, or meh for it?

What does that offer over the currently published run? That run was interesting from a technical standpoint. I don't think it would be as interesting the second time.

It is cheating. Also, can you please tell me what kind of TAS-like elements even exist in this run other than superfast menu navigation? Seriously, with your comment, it seems like you're just trying to troll.

@CoolKirby, I have 2 things to say. 1. I meant to say 7 computers. 2. All of the player's money is being given to the railroads (kinda like this YouTube video by DonamerDragon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IquY959xyO4 ) That is my goal, and if I can finish it soon, I will publish it. Would you vote yes, no, or meh? @jlun2, absolutely nothing else in the run has TAS-like elements.

Well, we already have published movies for this game: [520] NES Monopoly by Acmlm in 00:30.03 and [717] NES Monopoly "4 CPUs" by FractalFusion in 01:07.67. The first one wins against one CPU, the second one wins against 4 CPUs. There is one really interesting thing in the second movie: The input ends very early. Luck is manipulated for 8 turns in advance! If you get this movie improved for 14 turns in advance (to allow beating 7 CPUs after the end of input), that would for sure obsolete the 4-player run -- if you don't need to wait too long for the right result... But that will be VERY hard to do. Some disassembly was done beforehand, and you need to understand that first.

I understand that. I will work on it tirelessy. Oh, and by the way, I can't get any of the Monopoly luck-manipulation programs on here to work. I'm using Dev-C++ to compile. Can you give me another program that may work?

JWinslow23: you mean this? http://tasvideos.org/FractalFusion/Source/Monopoly.html Those programs are really old, as in older than Lua scripting in emulators. I hardly remember how they work. (They may still be useful, but not in their current state.) In any case, you need to know exactly how the programs work or else they are not useful at all. I can try to create some Lua scripts for Monopoly, if necessary. But you need to convince us that you know what you are doing. Monopoly TASing is not something that one can just "work on it tirelessly" and get an impressive result.

I know, but I have no idea how C++ or the RNG in this game work! To me, it's a bunch of values and numbers! I always use trial and error to get the order of cards, the dice values, the AI behavior, etc., but it is never perfect! HELP ME!

Also, do you believe if I learn C++ or how the RNG works (or even how to run that luascript thingy), your 4 cpu run could be "obsoleted" by manipulating 9, or possibly 14, rolls after end of input?
