I'm using BS Player, and for some reason whenever I try viewing an H264 movie the sound desyncs after about 10 seconds, and it freezes a lot (crashing BSPlayer). I'm am beginning to be of the opinion that FFDshow is not actually very good. Are there any other alternatives? I have a fair chunk of faith in BSPlayer though, whenever I've used it it's always been perfect, except when I try to use it with FFDshow. Is this all a cunning ruse by Bisqwit to get people to go "Screw this, I'm going over to Linux?"

I am under Windows and FFDSHow works fine here. Bisqwit is not forcing anybody to switch under Linux.

Heh, I guess the non-seriousness of my last sentence didn't translate well into text, forget I said it. I just find it very odd that this desync problem is so severe that resizing the window should cause me to get up to 3 seconds of lag, then it crashes, while playing DivXs in exactly the same program causes no problems whatsoever, should I try the SSE version of FFDShow? These problems have occured with both the Generic and Unofficial versions linked from the Codec Problems page.

Yes, I've tried that, I also found a 2002-ish version, and that was no better. I also just tried the same file (The new SMB3 run) in WMP and it had exactly the same problems.

then remove your bs-player and install wmp 10.
