I seemed to have also blindly and unconsciously removed it from my hard drive as well. I guess we can only hope someone else downloaded it before I changed it. Goddamn I am stupid.

Yeah um...I've been going at this completely the wrong way. Did I mention that I've never done this before? I'm sorry guys... Anyway, is anyone still doing the full run of the game without using the warp glitch?

I dont know about you guys but, the .zip's are empty for me. :/ Hows the run going btw, I really like to see a full run of this game. With or without the warpglitch does'nt matter.

No, the zip files above contains a file. I have a feeling that some software had this problem (not displaying contents correctly) with some zip files, but I don't remember any details.

Steal it ;) You dont have to buy it. The only thing that happends is that the owner of the shop will punnish you for what you did if you enter the shop again and that the Owl(everyone?) will call you thief. :)

But please make sure you get everything else you need from the shop first.

Exactly, buy the shovel and some bombs and after that you are ready to take the bow.

I bought bombs and then stole the shovel, it would have been impossible to quickly get 200 rupees to buy it(without wasting a lot of time anyway). i'm better off letting myself die and then steel the bow too. I was asking because of that...do i NEED the bow to finish the game or can i be creative with other items?

No, you do not need the Bow to complete the game. However, if you skip the bow you'll need to eventually get the boomerang because the last form of the last boss can only be harmed by arrows or the boomerang. So the hard question is 200 rupees or trading game?

I already assumed that the trading game had to be completed in order to beat the game....after i trade with Kiki to get the bridge, do i have to do more then that? or can i get the bow and have it over with?

*laughs* That's right, you do have to do the trading sequence to read the library book. Then just make a stop at Torbonto Shores in the empty room. There'll be a man there who will trade you the boomerang for your shovel.

The path for inside of the egg is chosen when you first start the game, right? EDIT:Also, Marin's song can be learned while she is in animal village right? it sucks that you have to go all the way to the animal village and then all the way back to get marin :P

Actually, it's chosen when you read the book. I saved my game before reading it, read it, got something. Restarted, did some random crap for a few seconds and read it again and it was different (rather, I went allllll the way to the Egg with my path, went back and found out that it had changed since I didn't save) I do remember beating it by trying each of the 3 (4?) different ways but I think it was the B/W version.

It's not chosen when you read the book. I played till the end, pulled out my guide, and guessed the various paths until I got the right one...then I reset my game and did my run on it. I never read the book.

The path is 'chosen' probably when you read it or enter the Egg, then. Regardless, it'll probably take a few tries to figure it out if you don't know it :P

I was under the impression the path was simply set to the default (l-l-u-r-r-u-l-u I think), and then is randomly reset when you read the book.

Yeah - I assume that Maur. I tried numerous times and got the same path. However, I can't prove that is how it always works.

http://www.speeddemosarchive.com/ It's on there. LA DX version. 1:45. Could be sub 1:40 if I did it again.

Yeah, any new speedrun done on this game should be < 1:40, on either version. If your tas is > 1:25, you've done something wrong. Check out the LA thread on the zhq2 forums too, that's got most of the new stuff that wasn't found in time for the speedruns that are up.

Ok, i'm doing my own run of this game now. Not sure how it will turn out, but it's a lot better now that I have a target time. If I can't beat 1:45:00 then i know i did something really wrong..heh

Is the L-2 Sword being gotten in this run, or not? I think it would be a good idea, since you can collect 20 seashells once you have the flippers (I myself always get it upon completion of level 4). I've never tried a short run of this game, ever. I've played it over 100 times, and done 100% each time. Although, sometimes, I completed the Trade Sequence and forgotten to read the book. I'm not sure there is a Default setting for the egg path or not, I don't recall getting the same one whenever I don't read the book, but I'm not 100% sure either. But there's a dilema here, you can either skip the bow or the book...not both. You NEED the Magnifying glass to have acess to the Boomerang. Since the Trading Sequence takes a bunch of time, I'd go for Stealing the Bow, as it is faster to do so, and I think it will save more time overall than trying to snag the boomerang. Yeah, you have to keep up the supply, but I've never run out of arrows before, and getting the upgrade will auto fill you up to 60 anyway.

Is this a 100% run or minimalist? Are you doing a TAS or regular run?
