Whenever I try to record gameplay of any game in PSXjin on my laptop the program crashes. After I set the name and settings, the program crashes and says "psxjin.exe has stopped working." I was able to do a small TAS of Tomba 2 (can be found here: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13731) using my desktop computer, so I want to work on it on my laptop too. My laptop is a Macbook running Bootcamp and Windows 7 Ultimate. It has an Intel i5, onboard graphics, and 2G of RAM. My desktop is running the same OS and has the same processor and graphics, except my desktop has 8G of RAM. I don't see why I'm having this problem. EDIT: I just found out what the problem was. For some reason I don't have permissions to read and write in the program files folder (even though I'm the only user on my laptop). So either I move the psxjin file to documents or I find out how to get permission.

I don't know if this solves anything, but someone mentioned on IRC that recording starting from savestate/now doesn't work. Only starting from reset works.

I never record from savestate since it's too glitchy.

It didn't work. It just crashes like usual when I try to record or play a recording. I can run any ISO btw, but when I try to record the emulator crashes.

Please tell me you're using hotkey save/loadstate and not the inbuilt one because the inbuilt one causes more problems and the hotkey causes no problems.

Well whichever method I'm using it seems to be working fine on my desktop, but if I try any type of recording on my laptop it crashes.

I use my laptop do all of my encodes, it might be the specs on yours or something else... can you show what you have in the graphics settings in psxjin

So what I'm getting is that when you load state then record you crash. What about doing that in reverse (record then load state), because your first wip was done from frame 0 (or whatever number) to the end of your frames.

Sorry if I confused you but I've never loaded a state then recorded. I've always recorded from power on, and as soon as it tries to record the program crashes. If I pause then hit record, the program is fine, but as soon as I unpause it crashes.

What codec are you using? Because I see that's not mentioned. (Checking every possibility and I think it's this)

I'm not sure. All I know is that I'm trying to record with a .pjm and that's the only option I have available. I don't know what codec .pjm's have. EDIT: I just found out what the problem was. For some reason I don't have permissions to read and write in the program files folder (even though I'm the only user on my laptop). So either I move the psxjin file to documents or I find out how to get permission.

Windows 7 is really picky with the writing-permissions to the Program Files folder. Just move your PSXjin installation somewhere else. You might be able to work around the permissions problem by running PSXjin as administrator.
