Looks like one of the ponies in one of the old (90's) MLP computer games my sister used to play. What did you use to make that?

I used GIMP to splice a picture of the a Zebstrika's face to that of a G4 Pinkie Pie, cut the result and paste it onto Paint, used the curve tool (in red) to make a (rough) outline before pasting it back to GIMP to delete everything but the outline and finally color it. In other words, GIMP and Paint.

That picture was beautiful... If not for the replay, I would've never guessed you used a 3ds to paint it. 0_o

This looks wonderful. How long did it take to make?

Boy that's a fluffy tree. I also like the little HDRI effect you have going on near the tree, even though it might have been unintentional. Reminds me of Thomas Kinkade.

Thanks! I painted it while in bed, lights out very relaxed and trying not to fall asleep. So I'm not sure if it was intentional. The sky is a different layer, so it wasn't just a painting artifact, I guess I wanted contrast. For how long it took, I figure it must have taken an hour and a half.

I think you are misusing the term "HDRI". A regular image file cannot contain HDRI information (at least not without modification). If an image was produced by using HDRI in the original material, then it might be feasible to say "HDRI effect", but not otherwise. (For example an acrylic painting would certainly not use any "HDRI effect" because there's no "HDRI" anywhere in the creation process of said painting.) In gaming, I think the closest term that you are thinking of is "bloom effect" (which is often, although not always, achieved by using HDRI data.)

Just wanted to draw something, so I drew this (click for a bit larger version): (And no, I did not draw the outline of the pony. I'm not that good of an artist, unfortunately. I traced it from here. Coloring is mine, though.) Had a bit of a problem because I don't have an aquamarine coloring pencil. Had to improvise with cyan and green. I also scanned a few intermediate steps along the line:

(click for bigger) / dA Felt like drawing something.. And I was always amazed at those speed paints on Youtube so I was glad I could make something myself.

Oh, boy, people posting the ponies here now? I've held off on doing that myself since I didn't want to flood the thread with stuff most people here don't want to see. For those who want to look, most of it can be found in this thread on /art/ Nice painting, MUGG, I like the dynamic pose and the shading. It's the stuff I normally have trouble with myself.

Well, the title of the thread is "post your art here." If you have drawn something, that's art. Why would ponies in particular be taboo here?

scrimpy, you have drawn a lot, wow I really like some of them. What do you use to draw? What programs and what methods? I myself don't know if I'll keep on drawing, it was more like a try. It took me maybe 30 hours, most of which I spent drawing the outlines (before I realized you could make them curvy) and randomly fixing things here and there and here again. So if I were to draw more, maybe I'll acquire a more sketchy style like yours. Since I'm reading fanfics, maybe I'll make fanfic art or something.. Maybe. This was the sketch for the above image. http://i.imgur.com/vUWQd.png I made it in paint just by drawing dots to know where the body parts would end up being, then drawing it and fixing everything. Sketches are easy to draw, I guess.. but coloring, uh... not so much I think. Drew this in 10 secs, don't want to draw it seriously though. http://i.imgur.com/aksXc.png

A black and white Sonic. Done from an artwork, it's not "original".

Thanks! On the account of not having a tablet, I'm using Flash 8 and a mouse to draw. It provides smoothing for relatively clean lineart, at the cost of being vector software, which in itself is rather limiting, only thing you really can do with that is cel-shading. Sometimes, when I want to do something different, I'm using Photoshop as well. I don't really have any big plan for drawing, I usually just start with a circle for the head and work from there. Only rarely do I know ahead of time what I even want to draw. I figure that, on that note, I can post a few non-pony related drawings I've also made over the last few months: http://i.imgur.com/C7MF3.png http://i.imgur.com/Bp6m4.png http://i.imgur.com/xmtCi.png http://i.imgur.com/gfSlA.png Linked, because some of these images are rather large.

It's one thing to like MLP:FiM (after all, all real men watch it), but aren't you taking it a bit too far, to unhealthy levels?-)

I made another less artful animation with blender. not here I suck at lighting and texturing.
