hey, i was thinking about how much X3 hates me (even with semi TAS, which I need to play AT ALL without fail), and I remembered a hack of it where you could play as Zero throughout the whole game. It's called Megaman X3 Zero (Project), and I think it would make a cool TAS since you get to play as Zero.
That trick could actually be useful in a TAS like this. :)

Just google search it. You can get some info about it from someones Megaman X3 Zero no damage runs on youtube
Anyways, ill be sure to post some things about it that will be helpful when someone wants to TAS this. *ahem*
first, the dash boots DO give him an air dash, but only the horizontal dash (even with the chip).
The X buster upgrade doesn't affect him at all, since he can already shoot double charge shots (they don't even crosscharge).
His Z Sabre is no longer a two hit kill on bosses. The designers made it so that, depending on the boss, it causes different amounts of damage.
Not really useful for the TAS, but i think Sub tanks heal you for half the energy now, like in megaman Zero (im not sure if this is true, ive only paid attention to megaman classic and megaman x).
His theme from x2 plays during maverick bosses. That should go high in the entertainment factor, since its better than the repetitive, barely melodic X3 boss theme :)
Oh and his hitbox is larger than X's, so be careful when Dash-Dodg-er, Duck-Dod-um, Dash Ducking and etc. -.-
The conversion to being fully playable Zero is finished. There is another project planned that aims to make Zero control more like he does in X4 and so on... though I believe there is basically no progress being made on that front yet.
A little rudeness and disrespect can elevate a meaningless interaction to a battle of wills and add drama to an otherwise dull day.
Been doing some casual playing. A few things I've noticed:
1. With Zero at least, the Hyper Crush can be used no matter how much energy it had when you equipped it, and it will refill from damage you take even while using it.
2. Zero does not gain the benefits of the Energy Chip or the Radar. Not really relevant to a TAS, though some time might be saved in a 100% using both characters by having Zero as the warp-in character.
3. The Infinite Beam Saber glitch seems to have been fixed. You can still do it, but there's no blade, just the hilt.
