• Takes damage to save time
  • Luck manipulation
  • Uses hardest difficulty
  • Fastest any cost
Liu Kang's bicycle kick is one among strongest skills, that's why I didn't need any combos for make this run. The hardest for me is control CPU AI for take damage. CPU AI just load before meet them and I need have 2 good rounds for best run, then I must reload alot times until I have 2 good rounds with per enemy. Here's my preview video (timecode is just relative)

I can't find the proper movie to update the submission. The only MK userfile from xxNKxx doesn't look correct.

This movie does not beat the game and has empty frames in the end. Please fix the exact version you submitted and upload to userfiles.

You get the SUBMISSION FILE from your submission and edit it. I don't know if tastudio allows to truncate/trim the movie, but you need to do it after the last input. UH...

You must get rid of frames 33,185-33,214 seen on your picture somehow.

Can you also remove frame 33,185? Will the movie work ok?

Definite no vote. I wouldn't even publish this to the vault; I think it's insulting to all the creative, time-consuming glitchfests that have been created and published, and why even put this in the vault when there's so many great MK published runs?

There's no border for personal preference boring runs were rejected by before. Now there is some. It's a time record, and people may be interested in how straightforward and ridiculous a speed TAS can be for the games they know. Yes, this movie looks odd, but it is worth existence by the new rules and it can be beaten by some geek easily (it's a geek after all!), which means it has quite some TAS potential and therefore deserves a speed-by-any-cost run.

Block, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Punch, Block, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Punch, Punch, Block, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Punch, Block, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Bicycle Kick, Punch, Punch, ... If this is accepted, I think it should go to Vault.

Huh? I don't understand what you are trying to say at all. Bold part in particular. In any case, Vault-tier runs are accepted to Vault because the rules allow them so. Nothing more.

TAS geeks are almost incarnate superhumans, and they are already superhumans compared to us. What's hard for us is easy for them. I'm sure Aglar or Randil could shave at least a few frames out of this movie.

It's not really interesting to see the same move abused, but I will admit this is well-done for speed. As someone else pointed out, I liked seeing how quickly you took a little damage at the start to avoid the Flawless Victory message. I admit I also liked the small bit of variety when Kintaro got hit with an uppercut. The fight against Kung Lao looks the slowest; he takes a while to punch you. Can you make him throw his hat? I had to vote No, since it's not entertaining to me, but I'm glad to see it is technically pretty precise. Send it to the Vault!
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:
Shoutouts and thanks to mklip2001 for arguably being the nicest and most supportive person on the forums.

If I keep in mind that quote during watching this run, I am so prompted to laugh that I can almost vote Yes on it:

Would a flawless victory on Kung Lao had ended this TAS earlier? Anyway, Meh on entertainment, good enough for the Vault.

I tried with him many times. He can throw his hat in round 1, but in round 2 he'll run away, that's why...

I feel the same. Establishing the theoretically shortest completion time for a fighting game is IMO not terribly interesting; the entertainment value pales in comparison to the glitchfests we've seen in featured MK runs. At best, maybe it should be put in the vault, even if solely for record-keeping purposes... meh.
Oh, play it cool. Play it cool. Here come the space cops.

Although I'm no master of MKII, I have played the game enough to know how it works. Nice work with punishing the troublesome AI, but I found it a little too repetitive. This is a good game choice if one were to show off its other features. I'm sorry but I had to vote no since it did not show off much of the game. Fighting game speedruns are not too entertaining especially because it's the same thing over and over. I was also hoping you'd fight Jade since mostly everybody I've seen play tries to fight her. This would be good for the Vault. I honestly think this would be more entertaining if Smoke and Jade were challenged to show off even harder fights. Noob Saibot would take too long to do in any TAS (50 consecutive victories? That's gonna be hours of work). I doubt anybody would have that much time to do 35 fights with a second player combined with the 15 in the ladder (including Smoke and Jade) before reaching Kahn. I wouldn't blame anybody for not fighting Noob because he takes way too much time to reach, and viewers will probably be bored halfway through. Overall: Interesting? Somewhat, because it has beat the game in a third of most MK players' time. Entertaining? I'm sorry, but not really.

A lot of what follows is based on my opinions specifically talking about entertainment/vault (but I feel they are shared by a lot in this case) Thing is, this run is headed to the vault and it was obvious even before starting the TAS. Vault only accept speedrun without any trade-off for entertainment, somewhat for record keeping. This has been discussed somewhere else. If he would've posted his run including fighting Jade, the entertainment still wouldn't be enough to make it anywhere else then the vault, and it wouldn't be accepted due to the blatant speed/entertainment trade-off. And even if it was accepted, someone, or maybe even me, would've take a few hours and obsolete his run by not fighting Jade. He did make the right choice to put the most chance on his side to get his run published.
