Great work on the new version, loved the team work especially the part with the garcias jumping down from the crates at the begining almost looked like you just runned through them and they died from that :) More enemies and still 5 seconds faster? That's just awesome!

OK, the only real non-minor thing I can think of is Shiva, can't you throw in some Zan punches there more often while Blaze is running toward him, like you do on the final set? If you're going for no damage, you should know that the actual life bars are sometimes bigger than what's printed under some circumstances that I don't fully know. Also being hit by a parter really does lose some life, but sometimes it's not displayed - rounding error? In any case, I would keep it the way it's now, because it looks cool and people won't notice any difference anyway. Edit: Stupid mistake; now is not know.

The punches are so weak in the first place that I would probably lose time (since Shiva can get up so quick and be slammed again). The only reason I even punch with Blaze at all is so he won't automatically grab me. And if you notice on the final blows to Shiva, punching him isn't near as fast as punching a normal punk like that (even though I did it at the earliest possible frames), because if both characters try to punch Shiva at the same time, Zan will hit Blaze, and no amount of distance between the two seems to stop that from happening. Even if it did, though, it still wouldn't save time. I haven't tested it at all, so I have no idea if that's correct. Good luck with Roo and Bruce. I know I always used one character to hold Roo (he never breaks loose even though he has a special attack), and the other to wail on Bruce. Will you save Roo or kill him? Killing is probably faster, no running away animation and all that, but less styleful. Oh and Bruce is the biggest cheater in all of the SoR series. Seriously. He's even worse than Mr.X. He has magical "punches go trough me except when I'm jumping which makes me fall and take minimal damage" properties.

Heh, that would be more entertaining. It'd also be a lot slower, though. Here it is, Stage 2 Scene 1 completed. I had to alter the game plan a little due to some technical problems (damn that Roo for trying to jump at the drop of a hat), but in the end I'm still a whopping 22 seconds faster than my 1 player run! Edit: Uploaded a new file in its place. Now it's 23 seconds faster.

Just wanted to say this is looking great, and the techniques you use to take out enemies are both unique and efficient. Keep up the good work. BTW, I thought your Bruce battle looked great. I could never get Bruce into any sort of consistent pattern when fighting him.

Thanks for the feedback. That's one thing that's great about this game: there are so many ways to take an enemy out in roughly the same amount of time. I did some testing, and I'm 99% positive that Truncated's hypothesis about the 8 HP refill is correct. In Stage 2 Scene 1, the two players can't touch each other without taking visible damage. In Scene 2 they can (and this is further proven by the fact that Zan can get in two 4 HP punches without Blaze's lifebar showing it).

Oh my God! I can't believe I just realized this! If Blaze hits an enemy with her flying chop, and Zan punches the enemy on the other side while Blaze is still in the air, the enemy will be hit again by the flying chop! So I can get in 3 flying chops and 2 Zan punches before Blaze even hits the ground. That's 8 + 8 + 8 + 4 + 4 = 32 HP, the equivalent of Blaze's slam only the enemy isn't knocked down! This also works with Zan's downward attack in conjunction with Blaze's flying chop. If an enemy can be hit 3 times with Zan's downward attack (enemies with tall hit boxes, like Electras) then I could possibly get in 5 (!!!) flying chops and Zan's downward attack damage at the same time. That's over 50 HP in 1 second! It's hilarious when done versus two enemies, because the yellow hit animation is done rapidly so many times, it's almost like watching a CvsS combo video. Too bad it only works versus multiple enemies.

Here it is, Stage 2 Scene 2 utterly conquered. Unfortunately, even after utilizing the time-saving trick I mentioned above 4 times in the scene, it's been reduced from 22 seconds to only 15 seconds faster than the 1 player run, mainly due to lame ass lag which I couldn't avoid. Hopefully I can get way ahead by using the trick on Mona and Lisa.

Hahaha. That was awesome. I've never seen this happen before, but it reminds me of a bug in SoR2 where two characters punching an enemy at the same time, or two players being punched by the same enemy at the same time, could end up doing huge damage. I still don't know how to reproduce it. Perhaps it's related somehow. The obvious question is of course, could you have used this before somewhere? Probably... but I'm not going to ask you to redo it. It would be awesome if you could pull this off on Mona Lisa. > That's over 50 HP in 1 second! The obvious question is of course, could you have used this before somewhere? Probably... but I'm not going to ask you to redo it. It would be awesome if you could pull this off on Mona Lisa. The only place I can think of is the fight with Bruce and Roo. However, there's a small technicality that makes it even more complicated than it already is (it's really hard to reproduce this and do the highest damage while at the same time not hitting each other). Roo has to be stunned while one player is jumping, because he'll jump if he's not. That would just make it rediculously hard to to and wouldn't pay off very much in the end. Actually you're doing the same damage to two enemies, right? So it's probably 100 damage / second. The crazy thing is, the more I experimented with this, the weirder it was. Now I honestly have no clue how much damage is going on, but it's a hell of a lot, I can tell you that.

Mona and Lisa beaten so fast it's hilarious. At the beginning, I had to do a jump attack because when they land for the first time, one of them will ALWAYS jump when they get up and get hit in midair. Other than that, it went surprisingly smooth. Thanks to this massively improved strategy, I am now a whopping 44 seconds ahead of my 1 player run!

Watched it now. It's outrageous how fast they die. It's also fun how you progress so fast in the beginning they haven't even spawned when you get to the pillar of light. One thought: Since Blaze has the stronger jump-kick, shouldn't she be administring the initial kick? In either way the other character can take the chickens meanwhile.

It doesn't matter who jump kicks first, because I still have to do the same number of jump attacks in the end to kill the first girl, and then I would still have to slam the other one, resulting in the same time either way. So I just chose Zan because then I wouldn't have to switch sides afterwards. Didn't even think about the chickens...oh well, I don't think anyone will care that much about it, anyway.

Stage 3 Scene 1 finished. It looks sloppy when you watch it, but that's because of VERY non-cooperative AI (for instance, once I had to do an Electric Hand right into thin air to make the Signal above me move down so I could throw him in the hole...I don't know about you, but that makes no sense at all to me). Despite that and more lame lag, I'm currently 55 seconds ahead of my 1 player run.

Ack, I would have told you if I knew you didn't know. I have been using savestates to jump trough your movie since you started it. On a related note, is is possible for you to insert a few seconds of no input before the movie ends? Then I wouldn't have to restart the movie every time I want to watch the new part again.

Sure thing. Stage 3 Scene 2 is complete, and here's the savestate in case anyone needs it. I got ripped off on this scene, as each attack deals only half the damage as they did in a 1 player game. Regardless, I'm still 43 seconds ahead of my 1 player run.

It looked questionable at first, but watching it in slowmotion I saw that the hits did go in as fast as possible, so no complaints. It is possible to get lodged between the steel beam and the truck and surviving, and still making the truck crash. If you do this the sprite will flicker horribly if you press a direction. But I can only remember succeding doing it with Shiva. I think it relies on doing the special at the right moment. Anyway, carry on.

Stage 3 is finished, and here is the savestate. The first set of enemies looks kind of crappy, but there's nothing I can really do about it. Goldie's AI seems to work almost completely independent from the players' actions. Interesting note: Every enemy on the elevator has at least a full lifebar of health. Scary, huh? Another interesting note: At the end when I slam Robot Axel, he makes the sound of a regular enemy dying.
