I've taken to real-time blind-running randomized Super Metroids (see my topic in the Speedruns forum) and I'm curious what the best SNES9X is for doing those. My first two, I used ZSNES because that's what I'm used to. Then for my third one, I switched to SNES9X v1.52+ SVN184 for my third one because I wanted to record and share the runs, but that one wound up desyncing after the Golden Torizo, and left me concerned that desyncs would be a chronic problem with that version. The versions I have ready access to are v1.43+ SVN224, v1.51+ SVN147, and the aforementioned v1.52+ SVN184. EDIT: bsnes and Bizhawk are not options because my computer is old and can't run them at full speed.

Try 1.52 as it shouldn't have any descyncs in the video during playback, at least, I haven't had any really issues. Huh, I wonder why there are sync issues, too bad there was never a 1.53 for re-recording.

There is snes9x-rr 1.52. Maybe it has some issues that make it unsuitable for most stuff, don't know as I have never used it. AFAICT, 1.53 rerecording version doesn't exist (yes, the mainline has rerecording, but lacks many tools).

Real shame it was never made, could have been good, but who knows why. Oh well. Really miffs me when someone starts a project but never continues with it, such as the 1.52 branch, it has a lot of potential IMHO

Do you know a way to save my TAS movies on Snes9x 1.52 so I don't have to redo a TAS every time?

If you mean to resume a TAS after closing the emulator, all you have to do is save a state, and when you're ready to continue, play the movie with read-only mode on, turn off read-only mode and load the state to continue. By the way, I really like your name. "wingkappa" is pretty clever, and I laughed when I first saw it.
