Link once again saved Hyrule. Almost saved it, Ganon isn't death.

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: lsnes-rr1-delta17
  • Heavy glitch abuse

Comments

This is an improvement of 1 and an half minutes over the published run.
First Tompa created some 2:19.68 run, which I improved by adding a damage boost and a different strat going to Ganons room.

Tricks

Faster running
By alternating between left and left+right or up and up+down, Link walks faster.
Narrow passage boosting
In narrow passages Link can walk very fast.
Moon-jumping
This works because the game thinks Link is on a different floor than expected.
Screen-scroll glitch
By pressing left+right when entering a door Link will appear on the other side.

Thanks to

Tompa for making a run. Yuzuhara for finding a lot of tricks.

Nice run. Though you should really mention Yuzuhara in the submission, considering he found all the new glitches that were used in the run.

Very nice improvement. It sounds like the input is based on Tompa's so I think he should be added as a co-author. I'd also like to see a description of that crazy jump.
This signature is much better than its previous version.

Faster Text, I guess. And everyone TASed the Japanese version.
So....you aren't really certain if it does have an advantage? Like differences in RNG due to text?
There is not much RNG in this run, except for the guards.

I misread the timestamp in the thread so I was expecting 20 minutes of crazy gameplay. Then barely over one minute in, suddenly BOOM! You win. I love runs like that :)

Just mentioning that I have improved this with about 2 seconds already. Will submit when it's optimised enough.

Because Tompa made an improvement, that he'll probably submit soon.
