nitsuja, can you upload the source again? The link is broken for it. Edit: Thanks laughing_gas, maybe I'll look more carefully next time >_<

I recently tried tasing a N64 game with a gampad, but met the problem that I couldn’t find hotkeys the change the savestates. As long as it is not of too much work, it would be nice, if that could be implemented, if there will be a new version. Thanks in advance. Speaking of advance, I had a problem with the framadvance hotkey (wow, how funny^^). Holding the key on the keyboard, the emulator plays the game at normal speed, as needed. However, when I assign the key via JoyToKey to the gamapad, holding down the button, does not work (in contrast to gens). In case, that does not happen to me, it could be helpful to fix that.

Does anyone know how you could fix the video problems in paper mario or how to fix the menu problems in zelda? Just wondering if a new input was devloped if it would fix both of these problems.

Um, this emulator doesn't work. Every time I load a ROM it gives me some window with a circle with a dot in the middle and a bunch of checks for buttons (I'm guessing that's the gamepad), and then the emulator crashes.

What video card do you have? What video drivers do you have? What video plug-in is it using?

I tried all of the video plugins and they all crashed the emulator (giving an error message "mupen64 has encountered a problem and needs to close"). I don't know what video card I have, but one of the plugins said something about my video card not supporting something. EDIT: I re-downloaded the emulator, and it seems to be working fine now. :)

I also encounter a crash problem when I load a rom. szAppName : mupen64-rerecording.exe szAppVer : 0.0.0.0 szModName : hungapp szModVer : 0.0.0.0 offset : 00000000 Tried different compabilities such as Win2K. Right now I'm running this program with Windows XP Pro including SP3. The hardware is: Nvidia Geforce Go 7600. Intel Core 2 Duo T5600 1.83Ghz 1GB DDR2 Ram Funny enough THPS 3 works without crashing the emulator. However the graphics are totaly bung. One thing I noticed is that Mupen takes well over 150Mb of Ram when it crashes. Not sure how normal this.

why is it that when i try to tas, for example perfect dark, mupen won't even let me get to the title screen before it closes itself yet pj64 plays it with no problems? do i just need a new video card and/or more ram? i know i need those anyway, i'm just curious if that's what's causing the problem sorry if the answer is already found elsewhere, i don't have internet of my own and don't have time to look through everything

I'm not sure what your specific problem is but i'd just like to say that Perfect Dark has alot of emulating problems with Mupen. So really not a good choice to start off TAS'ing n64.

For everyone attempting to compile this under linux. It's still not working, but at least I have some of the syntactic bugs out of there. It still remains to actually include the options in the GTK frontend. Apply this diff: http://engelsish.org/mupen64linuxpartialfix.diff to this source: http://dehacked.2y.net/mupen64_src-rerecording-v8.7z (Still doesn't compile, but it doesn't compile more!)

EDIT: I'm a moron, it´s on the front page under emulators. Forgot they added that a few years ago.

Sorry for the bump put I thought I post a mirror here since the only mirror I can find in this thread is to the source. http://www.fileden.com/files/2009/3/6/2351771/Mupen64.zip Is this the latest version btw? It says v8
Everything you need is here.

Maybe we could help us from that to manipulate bytes to get first bowser warping makes wrong warp and makes warp us to 3rd bowser
Current: Rayman 3 maybe? idk xD Paused: N64 Rayman 2 (with Funnyhair) GBA SMA 4 : E Reader (With TehSeven) TASVideos is like a quicksand, you get in, but you cannot quit the sand

It wouldn't be a legitimate TAS if it exploited emulator bugs though. A wrong warping bug would have to be in the game itself, not Mupen64.

No, I was talking about this to find if this is possible to manipulate data without finding values ^^

Why is this emulator pending deprecation? What would be used in its place for N64 TAS videos?

Bizhawk, using the mupenplus core for N64. (In the future, CEN64 as an N64 core would be even better, because it's cycle-accurate, but it's not done yet.)

Ah, makes sense, thanks for clearing that up. Now, to find a good tutorial on actually making a TAS for Mupen64 plus...Luckily the requirements for CEN64 are super demanding :P

Demanding indeed; apparently, based on the last revision in the repo, the RSP and RDP are set to require SSSE3 support.
