Many people aren't interested in making a TAS because of the precison required when playing a game frame by frame or at reduced speed. They could make a speedrun of it instead but it is very hard to make a full game non-segmented speedrun without any mistakes and it takes alot of constant play time. What I suggest is to let this site accept speedruns where the only emulator tool used is savestates. This type of movie would probably be the easiest make since it takes the hardest parts out of speedrunning and TAS.

Yes, but why? We are looking for precise movies, not near precise movies.

We already accept that kind of movies. But we urge everyone to use the other tools too, because it helps creating better videos. Movies that don't use frame advance have no advantage over those that do. If you are suggesting forming a new category for movies that only use savestates as tools... Well, not going to happen. Let's go with the technical reason: there's no way to prove that slow speed was not used in the production of the movie.

Hmm, personally, I gotta agree with Zurreco and Bisqwit. There is just no real reason to have a category for videos like that. The only advantage I see to the idea is the casual viewer might take it upon himself to make a video. In turn sparking the avid to improve upon it. Which more or less already happens.

Btw, I don't understand this. How playing at full speed (even when using savestates) is any easier than playing at slower speeds? Playing at slower speeds certainly makes playing easier. Full speed requires a lot of practice in most games.
