Japan was fucking embarassing, they’re reminding me why I haven’t been following football for the past 10 years

Greece really fought for this draw, 10 players, almost no ball possession and constantly under attack - and yet they still succeed getting that point. Reminded me a lot of the good ol' times back in 2004 ^^ And if they defeat Ivory Coast, they can even make it to the next round (if Japan doesn't win of course, and I doubt they will).

Giving the fact Greece qualified by scoring the fewest goals. It's safe to assume they must have a strong defense.

Argentina vs. Iran: Iran defended so well throughout the entire match and created some amazing chances. It's a shame they came away with nothing. Nonetheless, Messi's goal was superb and Argentina totally deserved the win. Germany vs. Ghana: Germany gon' Germ. Let's go! Edit: Dang! That match was so close. Germany was weak against the Ghanaian counterattack. Not their best game. Glad Klose came on and equalized (the game and also Ronaldo's record).

Yeah, the second half of the match was great. Lots of chances for both sides - it seemed like there was a shot at a goal every minute. Great offensive play.

Statistically, there was a shot at a goal every three minutes. EDIT: Sorry, there were 16 shots at a goal and 31 shots in total.

The refs totally gifted Nigeria that win. Letting a PK foul go uncalled and then calling offsides on an onside BIH goal is just ridiculous. FIFA really needs to implement replay for three things: open field fouls resulting in injuries, checking to see whether goals being waived for offsides are really offsides, and whether defenders perform handballs. I don't care about "the spirit of the game:" the refs can swing very important games by mucking up tiny calls that take the announcers about 15 seconds to verify.

That goal was so obviously not offside, it's ridiculous.

That is practically Luis Suárez' trademark. It's not the first time he did that.

I am very late to the party but yeah I agree with Zurreco. Also Suarez should henceforth be named something like Luiz the bloody vampire. That was his 3rd time he bit someone! I still say that Brasil will win the whole thing.

Wow, that Greece-Ivory coast match was exciting all the way to the end. Greece getting a penalty at the very last minute of extra time for the win and advancing to the next round.

YEEEEEEES! What a historic accomplishment for Greece! I nearly died at the end, but it was worth it.

I sadly do absolutely suck at writing in Greek, but I can at least read it. Feels great to not be the only fan of the team for once :)

Family (+ Grandparents): GO AUSTRALIA Me: GO GREECE Australia is out and~ Greece is going to the Quarter-finals. Basically that was quite satisfying for me and I bloody (heh, Australian part showing) called it... that Australia would be last and out and Greece with the luck of the Gods continue on. I'm never going to stop cheering for my background....

The Swiss will get their last chance to stay in the tournament now, this match will be very intense. While a draw (and in some cases even a loss), could be enough, they just have to win today. If they don't, they wont have the slightest chance against Argentina, that's just basic psychology. HOPP SCHWIIZ!

A bit late but yay Germany is through. They face Algeria in the round of sixteen, and France or Nigeria in the quarter-finals. I expect them to make it at least to the semi-finals this time. Go Germany! Meanwhile:

Suarez got suspended 9 games, so he'll miss the entire Knock out proceess, good! Biting an opponent is unacceptable.
