I'm trying to TAS Barkley Shut up and Jam: Gaiden with Hourglass, and everything works fine except for one thing, The music doesn't play in any scenario. I've tried fiddling with the sound settings and the game settings outside of hourglass, and I can't get it to work. Without music the run feels...empty. It almost feels eerie because all of the sound effects still work. Should I give up? Finish it anyway? Or try and find a solution? I thought about editing the music in afterwards, but that would be time consuming and invalidate the run for this site. tl;dr no music, what do?

Something similar happened with Yume Nikki. The person that made a TAS of that game didn't submitted the movie because he modified the game in order to make the game to work, and fixed some audio issues, meaning that could be agaisnt the rules. The video here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-vH8orvNSc Its sad. But I don't really know how to solve your problem, I just added some more info about the topic.

If that really affects the timing, he only has to distribute that version and all competing TASes would have to use that.

I say finish it anyway if you're having fun doing it. Once Hourglass gets to the point where it's able to run everything normally, then you'll have a reference point for an updated version. Plus, even without the music, there's still going to be people interested in watching it (myself included).
