This was a funny thing I got from a friend. http://earth.google.com I downloaded and tried it. Very cool I must say. If you got a minute you could check it out. Read more about it on the url above.

They missed my house by half a mile. :(
A hundred years from now, they will gaze upon my work and marvel at my skills but never know my name. And that will be good enough for me.

It was very good for me, my house on the small town had a good resolution picture. Ferret i still dont understand how you know they "missed" your house by half mile, what are you referring from?

Probably he means that there is no satellite imagery for the area he lives on.

Bisqwit: he said that he typed his address and it pointed to a place half mile away. Well, i'm impressed by the model with texture, nonetheless. This address feature is only available in USA, so its not even close to complete.

I also discovered this adress some days ago. Very nice thing. In TV they said that the resulution of every location will be improved in the future. Another simple world map which don't requires a installation is on http://maps.google.com Just switch to "Satellite" in the above right corner and zoom with the bar to the left.

Funny that you mention it. Thats what I thought as well. :D I could not see either of my appartment building or the house where mom and dad lives. Only the streets. So I hope it will get improved in the future. Perhaps I should call google and check with them the next time the satelite sweeps over my head. Then I could put my face out through the window and wave to you all. :D

It's pretty useless for NYC addresses. It doesn't zoom close enough to offer any identifiable details. Same with my childhood suburban home. Kind of amusing though.

I could identify my house in Sweden, and even the shed where I usually put my bike, without problem. Amazing. Looking at other towns though, such as the one in Japan where I'm living, the pictures were much coarser. I have no idea why because the other towns I checked are a lot bigger.

It's because "they" were watching you. And then "they" lost interest.
