Brief review by Classic Game Room It's a role-playing game for Mega drive.... released in 2010. Taking 6 years for development, it features magnificent graphics, impressive soundtracks, and others unseen in previous Mega drive games. WaterMelon, the developer, is now preparing HD version for PC & other consoles, probably shooting for this year. One thing to note is that it utilizes optional Mega-CD expansion for audio enhancement. While the game ifself is on cartridge and works standalone, by inserting enhanced soundtrack disc on Mega-CD, you can hear the CD music in the game. I'm pretty sure any current emulator doesn't support this as there're no official game using this technique. So before someone tries TAS of this, I think the emulator must replicate this first as CD soundtrack is a huge merit for viewers. I probably won't ever touch this as I suck at RPG, but I do want to see how the speedrun of it would look like. Edit: Mistake with development span.

There are two other "games" besides peer solar that use CD+Cart. GPGX supports them all. As of right now, Bizhawk-GPGX does not support CD+Cart due to some unimplemented practical concerns, but nothing major.

The introduction of Pier Solar says Sega didn't make use of Sega CD in that way. I thought PS was the only game with that function. From what I know for now, the main benefit of leveling is the increase in HP and MP, while other stats will mostly be raised by equipment. This should be a good news for TASing since you probably want to avoid level grinding as much as you can.

IIRC, Pier Solar can't be emulated because it makes use of things on the hardware that haven't been bought over to the emulator side properly, or at all. Of course, I could be wrong and they could have updated the emulators by now.

BizHawk does work with this game. You won't get CD Audio, yet.

Did you not read my post 3 posts before your post or did you just not believe it? GPGX can fully emulate this game. How many times does it need to be said?

What's your problem? My post was confirmed to be incorrect already by hegyak. The reason I didn't believe it was possible is because I was talking to a guy who helped developed the game a while back and he mentioned it, but if it's possible now, that's great. No need for the attitude.

You directly contradicted my post without actually addressing the points brought up in it. That makes you no better than a gradeschooler chanting "nuh-uh!" on the school yard.

Sure, but I still didn't believe the game could be played through fully in an emulated environment, until someone said so. I figured you guys might have been going in without caution, that's all. If you feel like I asked a retarded question, so be it. The deed is done. I got an answer, and was wrong. Moving on.

RaijinXBlade, Feel free to try BizHawk. If it doesn't work, let us know. I know for sure it boots, and will run. But I don't know if the game will run to the end.

Gotta say that this game looks sweet (reminds me of the Lunar games). The combat system looks more sophisticated from the classics of old. I wonder how they would look in a TAS?
