So I have decided to volunteer in encoding NSMBWII and I have been told to make a logo for my video. I have made several attempts and so far this is my latest result: https://www.dropbox.com/s/tt3lvxfjatdm4db/tasivdeos.png?dl=0 What do you guys think of this logo?

Considering the game is 16:9 yikes that's tiny. What you wrote: "This tool-assisted superlay has been published at: http://TASVideos.org/ Visit this website for more information" I don't like what's written at the bottom, probably either add more or just scrap it. Some users have it like this: "The homepage of this tool-assisted speedrun is: http://TASVideos.org/" Considering you have extra information do (This is what mine says): "The homepage of this tool-assisted speedrun is: http://TASVideos.org/ Visit there for more updates and information" Another one which is different at the start (fsvgm777's): "This tool-assisted movie is brought to you by: http://TASVideos.org/ Visit there for more updates and information" Make sure what you have isn't separated either especially when putting the extra information. Probably add an avatar too into all that.... Also, I think that's the first time I've seen someone use the word "superlay" in their logo. I won't go against that, just surprised someone is used the word superplay.

Thanks for the info. I use Gimp to create my Logo and I don't know the exact size resolution in pixels to create my logo. What would you recommend for a widescreen video resolution in pixels?

Just do something at or higher that 720p (that's also 16:9) It shouldn't be that much of a problem when you render it out in the end. Edit: Also if you're dumping to YouTube in 60fps your max is 1080p so yea.

How about my 4-year-old HD logo?
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
