Qwerty&Aglar’s WIP of EHZ is already optimized to impossible level, I tried my best and still couldn’t improve it further (however, I got quite close by also getting 0:16.xx / 0:33.xx). One request: can you please check your PM? I sent a message long time ago. (upd) I might try improving both acts (or at least repeating their results), but a huge problem is that I need to know what’s done offscreen (EHZ1), did they use “run up a slope” strategy at least once, and so on. I’d be glad if Qwerty or Aglar could share the gmv for those who would like to work on the project. If noone manages to improve the run (which is the most probable), he will just add Aglar and Qwerty as co-authors and use their input.

Thank you very much, Qwerty :) (upd) after watching the gmv, I am surprised that I got higher speeds at almost all major parts of EHZ during my test attempt. However, I sucked at other parts, like big jump, for example. And the main mistake is missing the run-up-a-slope strategy, which, as I can see now, was really used. If you, guys, are interested, this is my own version of this run, which is slightly slower, but now, after watching these, I can clearly say that I can — and probably will improve it, just let me finish my Amy TAS, which is my priority until I finally submit it :)

But I stuck in the loop :(. If can you finish it, better. EDIT: I want to emphasize that I guided me of WST's .gmv to improve this act

Nicely done, Kiske. This is exactly what I was going to try ) But before we work on EHZ2, how about finally improving the “unimproveable” EHZ1? My gmv shows faster way in a few places, while Qwerty/Aglar’s is faster at others, so, why not to combine them and get the new “super TAS”? ) Also, just curious, why do you use [<>B] for braking? Why not to use just [B]? Should be much less annoying to press. Also, at frame ~3318 of your run, when you jump in front of spikes, there is a slope, which you can abuse in order to get slightly higher horizontal speed and thus win 1-2 extra frames And my sincere apologies — I cannot TAS today (especially given the level of optimization which I will have to put into this), so, better if you do it yourself.

I was inspired to improve EHZ2, so first I go to that zone and then to EHZ1. Tomorrow I'll continue this TAS... And now I go to sleep After, I will optimize the input if I can EDIT: 24 frame faster Improved EHZ2 with success :) I do not think this optimized to 100%, so to speak, but could improving, guess xD When have more time, I'll try to improve EHZ1[/url]

I'm happy that S2K gets some attention, because I think it's a crying shame, that there's no run on the site. I also tased EH1 and got 15::19 It's most likely improvable, since it's my first testrun. Oh… I used this strategy for other characters, but somehow didn’t think of trying it for Knuckles… Do you think it could be used to improve current result for Sonic (on original game)? Link to video

So as Knuckles and Amy finally got 14 seconds in this level, now time for Sonic to prove that he’s not that slowpoke? :-D By the way, my thoughts are: Sonic can use spindash to touch the red spring faster; this will also freeze the camera for a few frames and allow going further offscreen, probably just enough to not bump into the monitors and thus keep higher horizontal speed. Just my thought. :) (upd) checked it; nope, seems not enough, but I still beleive this strategy can be used for Sonic. I got 0:15.59 in my testrun, but it’s improveable.

I was finishing for complete EHZ, and found myself surprised that eventually ends at 33.33 O.o Is saved the amount of frames correctly ? Or is the same, but with other technique ?

At least 1 frame lower. You beat me to the slope jump after the first partially-offscreen monitor (I was trying something along those lines), but the jump at the end caught me by surprise. Edit: Heh, me and Aglar posted at just about the same time. Time to splice his new trick in. Edit 2: Here, added the extra frame to Aglar's version.

Improving your S2 run is a monumental task, it's the best TAS I've ever seen, both the level of precision and aesthetics. My testing with Knuckles in EH1 is my first foray into tasing Sonic 2, thus I'm still lacking experience.

I was surprised when I discovered that Sonikkustar, fuzzerd and upthorn reached the same speeds as Aglar in EHZ, but somehow missed the “run up a slope” and “fall of a screw” glitches. At first, I was sure that they got lower speeds, but now I see that the speed was clearly enough — all was matter of proper alignment.

Guys.. Some strategy for improve CP2 ? I saw the movie S2K Ringless and have some zones interesting. And I wonder if we can use some zones for s2k any%, unless there is some improvement and can develop this movie..
