An update on my encode, my own laptop is in for repair and I had to borrow someone else's to encode. Unformatley when trying to encode using the direct draw option in kkapture, the game crashes at random places. I'm gonna have to kkapture it segmented. How do I join the segments to one file?

Some people outside of this forum like Eekcast wants to watch it so I'll be uploading it to YouTube shortly. Update: It doesn't work with integrated graphics sadly. I wish I had my main laptop but it's in repair and I won't get it back until the New Year. Never mind. I'm getting a high end iMac on Christmas Day. I'll install Windows on it and make a final encode when it's been accepted. Update 2: I just got hold of a SuperDrive and I'm gonna install on my MacBook Pro. So hopefully there will be s temp encode for anyone who wants to see it on YouTube.

Avisynth, VirtualDub, ... Btw. if kkapture is too much trouble there's also Fraps, MSI Afterburner or VirtualBox video capture.

I'll try Fraps. I have used fraps before.

This is odd. I use kkapture on a VM on my Mac and it captures perfectly but because I record on vm it's terrible. Don't worry! I'll have an iMac soon with dedicated graphics so when I dual boot with windows things shouldn't be a problem!

You should add a tag (not description) "yt:stretch=4:3" to that video. Wait, what resolution is the encode?

Huh? At first I doubted you were going to end up doing the publication encode, but now that I know you are... creaothceann gave you bad advice. On a custom encode fraps *might* not be too bad, but for publication encodes kkapture is the only choice for recording TASes on emulators with broken avi dumping.
Encoder Guidelines wrote:
Video must be captured using a recorder that will not skip or duplicate frames; our emulators normally provide this functionality natively. Most screen recorders and other external program (such as Camtasia or Fraps) are not acceptable because they do not know when the contents of the emulator window change and hence cannot capture all frames, nor can they slow down the capture in the event of an encoding or I/O stall. When an emulator has no internal capture or an extremely poor internal capture (such as PCSX or Mupen); .kkapture is allowed. It can throttle recording speeds correctly for slow CPUs and comes much closer to frame accuracy than most screen capture tools, but is still not allowed for systems that have working internal capture.
feos asked for the resolution, not the file type. You can check the resolution of mkv files by downloading matroska or something and checking the properties And I hope the avi you used for the publication encode didn't have frame count, input, etc. on it like the temp encode did, because that would be a baaaaad mistake

He uploaded a primary downloadable to youtube, despite my PM to him where I told him not to do it, and to upload an HD, and despite the encoding batch that says:
Press 1 for Modern HQ MKV. Press 2 for Compatibility MP4. Press 3 for HD Stream. Press 4 for All of the above.
And all the relevant pages telling the difference between standard definition and high definition encodes. Also, resolutuon can be viewed via MPC, by going to File - Properties - Details - Video size.

HD Encode option requires logging into the encode server and I use the generated password to login but I get access denied.

You still have the encode in the output folder; just upload it manually

In that case the encode didn't finish and you had an error somewhere along the way. I doubt anything in encode.avs would be wrong considering you got the primary encode to finish, so my next guesses would be a. you don't have an hd logo or b. you don't have TASEncodingPackage2. If a, you can either make an hd logo or comment out the line which looks for the hd logo and uncomment the one before:
file = "logo.png"
#file = hd ? (nds ? "logohdnds.png" : "hdlogo.png") : "logo.png"
If b, download it here

Hmm, maybe that should have been clarified earlier :/ I'm sorry if you took offense to me saying it's bad advice, btw. I couldn't think of any way to word it which would both have no chance of being taken offensively by you and get the message across as well to samlaptop
