I have been trying to use BizHawk instead of Snes9x for recording movies but BizHawk is being very slow even while I am not making a TAS. No matter how high I turn up the speed it just stays the same... slow. If anyone can help I would very much appreciate it! Thank you! [adelikat]: Edited the topic name to be a bit more specific

What are your system specs? BizHawk uses BSNES for the SNES Core, so if you have trouble running BSNES you'll have trouble with BizHawk in SNES mode.

please define "slow" by displaying the framerate and recording the number and write which bizhawk version youre using, otherwise we have to assume youre using version real.old.slow

Ok. Now I have a new problem. So my old hard drive had BizHawk on it. I tried downloading version 1.9.1 on my new SSD. I got the prereqs and ran it. I let it load a while until it was done. When it was done it said it completed and I clicked "Close." Then I tried running BizHawk. It did not load AT ALL. (Meaning when I double clicked it it did nothing.) I tried multiple times and it still didn't work. And with my old hard drive it was slow. I can't really get the framrate cuz I don't have it in my PC atm. Thanks!

- BizHawk 1.7.0 and later are known not to work on some video cards (mainly older computers); it certainly doesn't work for me on the computer I am using now. - For BizHawk version earlier than 1.7.0, the SNES portion could possibly be made faster by disabling the "Use Ring Buffer IO". To do this, load a SNES ROM, then go SNES -> Options and uncheck "Use Ring Buffer IO". I say "could possibly" because I don't know what your problem specs are, but disabling this option makes it much faster if your computer is single-core. It may still be slow though.

The machine mentioned by the user has a built in AMD Radeon HD 7640G, which should have very good support for OpenGL. I doubt this is the issue. It's possible that recent AMD catalyst graphics card drivers need to be installed if lack of OpenGL is the problem.
