Would anyone think that it would be interesting to have a marathon of a bunch of TASes?

It would be like a big marathon where we showed off a bunch of TASes.

Are you talking about showcasing a personal playlist of your favorite TASes or...? (I'm just not following you, at the moment, and trying to get a clearer idea).

No because basically everything is already here and it's not really worth it. The only things that are worth it are the Console Verifications and the Console Verification which is a Total Control.

Ok. Here it is a bit clearer. Go to gamesdonequick.com which is a RTA speedrunning marathon. This would be a lot like that but with TASes instead.

Oh, Okay. I figured as much. And read what I wrote. So why are you still trying?

Okay? But for what cause? TASes aren't live nor can be done like that, where is the entertainment? Where do you want to do it? -_-

Ah, so you're talking about doing a live stream of TASes? That is a bit different from doing RTAs. I do remember ForegoneMoose streaming a TAS of Castlevania: SOTN on Twitch, when he was figuring out how to pull off the game end glitch. theenglishman also once had an entertaining live stream when he finally figured out one of the major sequence breaks he discovered in Metal Gear Solid. But besides those two, it's probably hit-or-miss when watching a live TAS stream. In my case, if I were do to one you'd likely see me in one room repeating a jump over...and over...and over again. And then I'd become picky and redo the jump from scratch in a completely different way, lol. But live team collaborations, on the other hand, might be pretty fun to watch (it's been a blast on my end working on DTC 5).

You could do a livestream of TASes with commentary, but in practice you'd need to get a lot of different commentators since nobody knows every game to the degree needed to give good commentary. And the easiest way to do that would be to just have everyone pre-record their commentary. Which would be a great resource to have, mind, and I'm all for it, but it wouldn't really justify the "marathon" format -- why not just make the commentary available online with the runs?

I don't feel like doing it while a GDQ is active but I wouldn't mind marathoning the process of MAKING a TAS. Not saying it'd be entertaining at all, unless frustration is your bag

Yeah, I'd say that's the trouble with live streaming TASes: they just doesn't seem like they would be very interesting to watch. Yet for the author it is interesting, so I think there are genuinely interesting things happening all the time during production of TASes or none of us would even be here, right? I've always felt if you could find an entertaining way to express to the audience all the interesting things that are happening, then maybe the concept would work. If they understood why you're repeating that jump each time and what your goal is when you redo it, suddenly it becomes a bit more interesting to watch. The only problem I've had with that is determining what is too much or too little detail when explaining things, and that the constant explanation tends to slow down the whole process of TASing quite a lot for me.
