That's not the problem anymore; load times are better, but still inaccurate Personally I still don't see why one couldn't make a TAS on the current revision and fix the inaccuracies in an improvement, especially considering the load times are much better already, but I digress

The formula is likely never going to be perfect, it's all estimations. It's going to be close most of the time, but, considering that the Wii/GC will load as fast as the drive will take it, we'll never have a perfect solution.

The difference here is that there are no dedicated loading zones. The door opens when the next room is ready, creating strats which are a bit slower on console, but much faster in Dolphin

Are there strats that may be faster on some variants of the GameCube vs some variants of the Wii with the much faster drive?

I have a very interesting route I want to TAS and time. Before anything I need to check if a certain sequence is possible to be done quickly (X-Ray without powerbombs) and I'm running into desync problems with the revision linked in here a while back with "fixed" loads. It seems if I record the movie at a VERY low frame rate, it will play back if I also replay it at a VERY low frame rate (which is really annoying since I'm trying to do controller save state). With older versions of Dolphin, I don't have any problems with inputs getting out of sync during play back or while recording at 60FPS. Does anyone know what's going on here? Are later versions more stable? Is there a certain setting I should be changing?

That sounds weird, like something is set to that would cause desyncs. Maybe RachelB would know of a setting that could do this?

I downloaded a different version which also apparently has fixed loads and TASing seems to work perfectly... Idk what the deal was with the other rev.

I'm not entirely sure what would cause desyncs between those builds... you'd have to narrow it down further if you can reproduce it consistently.

Link to video Done straight after Morph Ball using the Training Chamber wallcrawl. Allows for early X-Ray visor, skipping a very long trip back to Chozo later in the run, also if you do Early Sun via IS, you can enter Phazon Mines through the back after Phendrana clean up. This is huge, I imagine it must save 3-5 minutes.

Before/if you continue working your run, I strongly recommend using the latest version. Because a) you are almost 2000 revisions behind and b) I am quite sure somewhere along the road there have been a few revisions which should in a positive way affect your ability to tas Metroid Prime. I recall there have been work made to tasinput, sound affecting Metroid Prime etc. Though not exactly sure if the version you are using include those fixes, but I doubt it. If your revision isn't affected by the latest various fixes then disregard my concern for you and good luck.
