We've just finished Battletoads. It's 00:19:19.Lost 1 minute because that miserable emulator named Famtasia cannot emulate a 2nd player in stage 11 so was obligated to let him game over.At least he is back at stage 12.If someone can find the problem that will be helpful, otherwise it's the final version and never redo that game.

How about making a one-player timeattack of battletoads? After all, we are seeking for the fastest time here... By the way, battletoads has the best parallax-scrolling I have ever seen in a NES game. Technically very difficult to implement in NES. Cool.

Well I don't think a 1 player game can beat a 2 player game even if we lost 1 minute and btw 19:19 - 1 = 18:19 So try to beat 18:19.I challenge you to beat this.BTW a 2 player game is a lot more entertaining .

I'd like to see someone do a run on the NES version of CV3 rather than Akumajou Densetsu. Reason being that the NES version is on several occasions much harder... 1. Cyclops boss is more aggressive. 2. Damage taken by enemies is stage-dependant rather than enemy-dependant. 3. Mummy bosses shoot up-down wavering projectiles. 4. Final pendulums during last stage have bats flying around them. 5. Special weapons (especially Sypha's) seem to do less damage although I could be wrong. 6. Dracula's 3rd form: lasers he shoots are 3 times longer than Famicom version. 7. Headless swordsmen attack more often, making them some of the toughest enemies in the game. There are many other ways which I can't think of right now, but by all accounts the NES version is the definitive skill experience despite the Famicom having better music. I can play through Akumajou Densetsu on normal speed without getting hit while Dracula's Curse throws me every time. Not to say that Phil and Genisto's movies aren't impressive to say the least. ;)

yea, a 2 player battletoads can be faster than 1 player, but it's very hard to make such a movie. i think i can make a 1 player movie that is faster than what u guys did, but i don't know if i should take the time to do it...

I'm waiting your Akumajou Densetsu speedrun and no re-recording is allowed.Btw it is the same game except the sound is better in the japanese version.

Akumajou Densetsu is as much a NES game as Castlevania 3 is. It wasn't made for Famicom Disk System, but the normal NES.

That's not true. The US and Japanese versions calculate the damage you take differently. The US version does it by stage (all enemies in a given stage deal the same of damage to your characters), while the Japanese version does it by enemy. The US version is generally harder in the later stages than the Japanese version is. Virulent mentioned this in his list of differences, and as far as I know, it's the only difference other than some graphics and the music.

Are you familiar with the information provided on this page for Castlevania 3? http://www.vgmuseum.com/mrp/code-cv3.htm

I've been doing some thinking recently. What are the chances of seeing a Grant-path run and a Trevor-only run of Castlevania 3, which would supplement the fastest run?

If someone makes these, they will not be rejected for the reason that they are slower than the Alucard route. (Of course they might be rejected if they look sloppy, just like always.) So it's an opportunity for the active.
