Here is a new trick. By jumping and flying to force knuckles into the wall by the jump and fly trick. Enjoy the demo on the trick on Death Egg Act 2 on the Long Play version of the game. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wt8abJRfONE //Regards Mr_Sweed or DMTM depense witch nick you prefer.

Hello. Here we are again. More stuff found. When Knuckles is on the other screen. Before the boss fight starts. Joust jump on the first frame to perform a air jump and press left and start to fly. Eggman goes down with the right speed to get 4 hits on him on the way down! With other words. This is 8sec quicker then the WIP 2 run of the game done by the Sonic TAS team. Awesome ! Can I add your inputs to the run ? (then, there would be seven names in the run's title ;P) Edit: I realised that the only level that hasn't been improved is OOZ2 if I remember correctly. I may give it a try after my Pac-man world tas test run.

To preserve speed while jumping in oil, you should hit ceiling 3. Running does not decelerate you, while rolling does. You should try to get into running state where possible. Sometimes it’s possible to turn runnning by jumping and hitting the ceiling, but if you are too high and rolling, you’ll not jump 4. Extreme precision on the slopes in OOZ1 may give you so great speed that you’ll be able to glitch through the wall in front of you

Necrobump!! After seeing that the Sonic 2 Perfect bonus run was back, i thought about diving back and completing this run. However, splicing together all the individual level segments will be harder than i thought at first since they all have weird names and date from 2013. I noticed there's no Best Times list for this challenge so I thought i'd post it here with the name of the authors. (They may be obsolete already (likely)) EH1: 0:18 (Aglar) EH2: 0:35 (Aglar) CP1: 0:25 (LTRP) CP2: 0:35 (Felipe) AR1: 0:19 AR2: 0:36 CN1: 0:24 CN2: 0:37 HT1: 0:32 (Felipe) HT2: 0:50 (LTRP) MC1: 0:29 (Aglar) MC2: 0:34 (DMTM) OO1: 0:24 (WST) OO2: 0:36~ (WST) MZ1: 0:43 MZ2: 0:29 (Felipe/Me) MZ3: 0:59 (Marzojr) SC: 2:05 WF: 1:45 DE: 0:40 (Aglar) Sooooooo, i'm looking for some motivation and I wondered if actual Knuckles runners discovered new tricks that could be useful. Also i wanna know if there's any interest in this challenge anymore.

Hello skychase Is interesting, Sonic 2 no rings with Knuckles and I'm going to help in this project. The good thing is that you know it is possible at all levels, should only improve motions. What else you know about it?

I made a improvement to chemical plant 2 i dont know if the times are exact 35s:34f -> 35s:00f (34 frames improve)

Ok. I've been trying to improve some things. First, this is the WIP-1 to ARZ2. EHZ I have not made any improvements because it is well done. I do not think there's anything better at the moment. CPZ I have improved the time in these areas. I think they are as optimal as possible. ARZ1 I improved a little time here making more faster the momentum. I compared it with the Aglar's Sonic 2 movie and Knuckles lost speed more faster to jump. That really is a problem because Knuckles has not better jumping ability. Well, these are the current times.

So far, not much except redoing Wing Fortress completely before putting the whole thing on youtube. It was desynced beyond repair. >< But anyway, bad timing because we just entered crunch time at my job, 60 hours/week, so i'll probably keep the remaining time for my girlfriend and sleeping. I'll see what i can do to help.

It's also worth noting that I make sure that I hit x-pixel 372, this somehow shifts down Knuckles' y-position by 14 pixels and with the additional 5 pixels from rolling you can just evade the first set of 3 rings.

Wow good good! I'm glad you found how to apply this technique. Now if there exist a way to apply the technique known in ARZ2. I have not succeeded to find it. I think I will dedicate to improve CNZ. Thanks you, Tee-N-Tee

In CNZ1 I think you can't do the same, at least not without taking TV box (10 ring) and that goes against the objective. In CNZ2 you can hit the boss a little before and this saves a little time.

Well done! These are some nice improvements. Also added the pause-trick which saves an additional 86 frames iirc.

:) :) Very nice Very well thought out. Even improving my time of 0:34::45 I not show. I'm working on HTZ. Since you have specialty with zip you might work in MCZ2 and MTZ.

Oh Tee-N-Tee, i've been trying this ARZ2 zip for SOOOOOOOOOOO long. O-Ô This. Is. Beautiful. hahahaha And Hat, this HTZ2.... I remember spending so much time on this level, starting with a zip with the raising lava that took ridiculously long to pull off. Now, seeing this so smooth and fast as hell, awesome. No regrets in necro-bumping this thread, hahaha. It will be worth the wait in the end. Good job guys. ^^
