Post subject: PlayStation game stuck at half speed

Im having trouble using bizhawk for playstaion, can someone help? The emulator successfully opens and runs play station games, but the audio stutters and the game runs at about half speed. I have tried changing various throttling methods (audio/clock/vsync) and changing the run speed(1005/200% etc). None of this seems to make a difference. Im using the american bios, the emulator gives the framecount as 30fps. Im using bizhawk 1.11.1. using default settings.

cpu model: Intel(R) core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9650 @3.00GHz 2.99 GHz I can play the playstation games just fine on EPSXe though, is bizhawk much more demanding?

probably. your cpu is also on the old and weak side. 7 years old and optimized for multiple threads (useless for emulation) even when it was made. call it 8 years old then. still it seems a bit slower than it should (im not sure i would expect 60 on your system though) make sure you're using opengl or direct3d display method (config > display > display method) Some systems will revert to gdi+ and then run reaaaly slow.

My primary machine has an Intel Xeon E5462 @ 2.80GHz. Based on PassMark scores, his CPU is slightly faster than mine. (1268 vs 1219 for single thread) I can run PSX at 60fps. So 60fps should definitely be achievable. Definitely double check that it's not running in GDI mode.
