Game objectives
  • Takes damage to save time
  • Luck manipulation
  • Uses hardest difficulty
  • Aims for fastest time
Tricks used
  • Skip flawless victory message: if get perfect win on each round, it'll waste time to show this message
  • Control AI: control CPU make what attack I want. In round 1, it's depend round 1 time start. In round 2, it's depend what action and timer at last hit in round 1
  • Make AI get hit: it's depend timer I attack
  • Skip cutscene: Sometime in round 2 show a cutscene (example: http://i.imgur.com/ck6CDPE.png), it's waste time for nothing. It's depend what action and timer at last hit in round 1
Comments
  • This's just a improve my old run (my first TAS and did without frame advance), nothing for entertaiment

GoddessMaria: Judging.
GoddessMaria: This looks quite a ways better than the previous attempt and as such, I will be accepting this as an improvement to the current movie.

It's still Vault, but now it looks better thought out. Good manipulations. I'm glad to see you could land uppercuts on Kintaro. I'm a little surprised that Shang Tsung transformed in the second round. Was that transform and slide the fastest way he could damage you, or was it just too hard to manipulate anything else worthwhile?
Used to be a frequent submissions commenter. My new computer has had some issues running emulators, so I've been here more sporadically. Still haven't gotten around to actually TASing yet... I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! (http://tasvideos.org/2001M.html) Thanks to feos and MESHUGGAH for taking up runs of Duck Tales 2 because of my old signature! Thanks also to Samsara for finishing a Treasure Master run. From the submission comments:

Seriously? You're going to spend ten minutes spamming the one same move over and over again? Heck no. Since the command for this move is "hold kick for four seconds", this doesn't even look like a tool-assisted movie; I'm not seeing anything superhuman here, just one move that the AI falls for used over and over again.

Are you sure this is the fastest 100% combo? Even for Liu Kang, Bicycle kick is really slow, and even if that's the fastest way to get near the corner, I've got to imagine that FF(HK) into whatever is a much faster way to end things. eg (arcade ver) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGbOeO5etTI&#t=3m35s There are some other 100% combos in there not in the corner for other characters as well.

You know, I didn't think I'd have to do it, but you had to write it. So. Previous Publication which N?K mentions: [2385] SNES Mortal Kombat II by NhatNM in 09:12.17

Yes on Shang Tsung round 2, it have alot way because he can transforme to all characters. At single Flaming Skull skill, he alway dodge or counter attack when I do Bicycle Kick. After tested much way, I see the Sub-Zero way have fastest

Thanks, but you forgot a thing. When start round, both have stand at center ring. It's impossible for do any Liu Kang's infinite combo

Yes, control AI is one superman

First, I explicitly addressed that in 2/3 of the sentences I wrote. I did not forget anything. Second, that addresses literally nothing I said. Third, it's a poor assumption that just because a combo is infinite, it will be fastest.

Liu Kang takes a hit to avoid the "flawless victory" text, then repeatedly bicycle kicks every opponent until he wins the game. Now you don't have to watch the temporary encode. Meh vote, even though it's ~00:03.43 seconds faster than last time. I'm sorry if I offended you in any way, xxNKxx.

Liu Kang saves the day by riding an air bicycle and making funny noises. Kudos for the improvement, and I vote "meh" for entertainment (solely because of the funny noises).

Guys, unless you can luck manipulate the characters to jump back to the corner instantly with no frame loss,i don't really see better options them bike spam, yes vote for the great job.Highly doubt any corner carry from midscreen could solve it faster.

Having a bad day? Here's what the guy meant: in the examples you pointed out the fighters are ALREADY at the edge of the arena. No matter what combo you do on the opponent, they're going to be blown back towards the edge. With the bicycle kick, you're not just hitting them for tons of damage but it also doubles as covering the distance to get to them. Also the 4 seconds for charging it up looks like it starts before the round has started (unless it means 4 in-game seconds) so it's not as big as it sounds. Basically that whole time is spent waiting for the opponent to get their one blow in, which the author says he looked for the optimal way to manipulate in each case. So it all makes good sense to me!

Please explain to me what you think "not in the corner" means.

He meant that execute painful 100% combos in the corner are much easier than from center. Meh vote btw.
I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes. Current projects: NES: Tetris "fastest 999999" (improvement, with r57shell) Genesis: Adventures of Batman & Robin (with Truncated); Pocahontas; Comix Zone (improvement); Mickey Mania (improvement); RoboCop versus The Terminator (improvement); Gargoyles (with feos)

Woo-wowowowo-WOWO Woo-wowowowo-WOWO Liu Kang's grueling training regiment has served him well. Though honestly more of a meh for me. I only really found entertainment in the silly noises & bicycle move. I listened to it often enough that I'm starting to think there's some sort of hidden message that was sped up to be unintelligible.

There's something incredibly funny about the endless succession of Bicycle Kicks. Doesn't hurt that it reminds me of this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q9zvgcOrTtw

JUst to sum it up,tangent, you can test if you want to. Do a 2 player tas with a corner carry combo to see if at least the character dies before the time these fights take or just make both characters jump to the corner and then one gets killed by the preferred combo. This way you'll know it the second takes too long without accounting for luck manip. and the first isn't remotely easy to conceive. You may be right, but i think you should test a little more.Unless you can ohko faster from the middle without additional luck(resetting the combo might end up being slower most of the time) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yZatOrVR7C0 ideas btw, this can't be rejected unless the one before it also was or we retroactively reject a published run.
