Post subject: Best PSX emulator for using lua scripts?

I usually use ePSXe for my general PSX emulation, but it doesn't support lua scripting (from what I've seen, at least). I'm now in need of an emulator that does. I tried BizHawk, and I can load the emulator and everything fine, but it won't ever load a game. I set it to use the same bios/firmware that I use for ePSXe, and the hash matches, too, but it never actually loads the game file regardless of format. I've tried an .img, .bin, and .iso; all were my own rip from my own copy of the game, and the same ones that I can get to work just fine with ePSXe. Are there any other options I have for PSC emulation with lua support? Or any suggestions for how to get BizHawk working? Thanks in advance for any help!

Use the .cue file. If you don't have one, be creative. After that BizHawk shall work fine.

I don't have a .cue file, and I don't really have any idea how to "be creative" about it. Is there anything else I could do to get it to work? Or is there something wrong with my disc image that is causing BizHawk to not work (Even though it does work in ePSXe)?

Check out DiscoHawk and report back. It might do what you want. Barring that, there are ways to create .cue files, you just have to go out there and find them.

Well, I'm trying to convert my .iso (my original dump) to a .bin that also has a .cue so I can use DiscoHawk, but BizHawk still tries to load it as a PCE-CD file (same thing happened when I used the .iso directly). all of my file attempts have descended from that same .iso that I ripped a while ago, and that works fine in ePSXe, and I don't have the means to re-rip it right now. Does that means there's an issue with the .iso I'm using, even if it works fine in other emulators? I read through the forum here for BizHawk and it seems that someone else had this issue, but it was resolved by using a bin/cue file instead.

The best emulator, by far, is BizHawk. DiscoHawk says it can import ISO files, so if you have only the BIN it won't work. However, most PSX games have only 1 track and this little guide will help you. Edit: malformed URL

Well, DiscoHawk DOES work with the ISO files. Problem is, when I load up EmuHawk to actually use the CCD file from DiscoHawk), it tries to load it as a PCE-CD file, not PSX. And this is happening with my files whether I use a ISO or BIN (with cue) file. I ripped these files from my own game discs with ImgBurn ome time ago (maybe a couple of years), in case there are known issues with that program and its resulting image files.

Go to http://redump.org/discs/system/psx/ , search your game/version/region/ and download the Cuesheet (that appears near the top of the page). Open this cue with a text editor to make sure the name of the the BIN/ISO/IMG is the same.

I'll give that a try, but in the meantime I have a different question. I tried a few other games and finally found one where the CCD file loads properly as PSX and the game actually plays! So my question is, how do I set it to use an existing memory card save I have? I can't find any option that lets me select a memory card file.
