Attempted, but I couldnt figure out the Crazy Jump to get even remotely close to WR distance
Depending on the rhythm of the dashes, you can get bouncing action as you come off the ramp. Simply driving off flush at top speed will not cut it. Everytime I get the cab to magically lift off I know it will be a 350 or more.

I'm sure you could max out the scoreboard with a TAS and the infinite reverse backdrift.
It takes awhile to build the clock back up. As the number of remaining customers winds down, time ends up being wasted just trying to find the next guy. You also have to pick them up at the correct time so that they want to go to the destination you want. I'm sure TAS could unleash combos quicker but it would still require 1-2 hours of play time.

Hey everyone! It's been a while but I am finally starting testing for Crazy Taxi Crazy Box :) So far in testing I have just been trying to find the sweet spots of where to crazy dash and have gotten a top record of 371yards so far! It only takes three four crazy dashes, starting at the back of the ramp, and a little magic bump at the end of the ramp Once I know I can get higher than like 390, I will start TASing Crazy Box. These were some quick tests with B.D. Joe and Gus. Gena was terrible even with the lump jump at the end she couldn't get to 300 easily. Gus seemed to be the easiest to get into the 350s+ Link to video Link to video The only thing about a Crazy Box TAS, it seems like Crazy Jump would be the only thing that went for high score.. Do you guys think its better to go for the minimum 150 yards? or Keep trying to get a very high jump score and then speed through everything else?

Why aren't you using the rickshaw? As I recall, that was the FASTEST vehicle in the game and what people used for most records.
Mr. Kelly R. Flewin Just another random gamer ---- <OmnipotentEntity> How do you people get bored in the span of 10 seconds? Worst ADD ever.

I was going off of the video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ljK8nCGKq4 that shows this guy getting almost the highest jump score with the regular car. This does however bring up questions about PAL vs USA and Xbox, Dreamcast, Gamecube, etc versions possibly being different. I didn't want to use the rickshaw because of the verification file/dirty state. Now that hasn't stopped me before from using a verif file, but I wanted to see if there was anything else I could do beforehand (which is why I wanted to wait on the ease/ability to use a ram search inside dolphin). But I will take your opinion into consideration and do some tests, if I see improvements, I will use a verif file.

Don’t mix them. Either go for speed or go for high score. Separate categories. Edit: Also yeah rickshaw is better.

Agreed, pick one, and I think high score would be much more entertaining.

It would literally only be the choice for Crazy Box 1-1. All the others are speed related, I would like to go for farthest jump but if its not something spectacular than it would be better just to speed down the ramp and hit the break to get 150.00

Can you not get some glitchy wall clip that shoots you directly downwards? If the only difference is 1-1… uh… I guess it’s up to you. If some kind of cool wall-clip were possible I’d go with that. Otherwise I guess they’re both acceptable choices.

Yesterday during testing I did get a weird hit off the end of the ramp that shot the car way up and it didnt even 75yards (and I was going full speed). Obviously whichever path I go is gonna be hard to optimize because the ramp is wonky and the car has its own funky physics when crazy dashing/limit cutting

Glad to see you're coming back to the Crazy Taxi TAS solarplex. Good luck and I'd be glad to help out if you need anything. Unfortunately there are definitely version differences for Crazy Box. The re-released PSN/XBLA/Steam versions have smoother textures for the ramp in 1-1 making it easier to keep up your Crazy Boost speed at the bottom of the ramp and get 350yd+ scores for that level. Also for 1-1, the record scores seem to use a lucky collision with the rear of the cab and the 'bump' at the end of the ramp to get some extra distance, but I'm not sure how to replicate it. Going for highscore versus time would only really matter for 1-1 like you said, and that will only amount to ~2-3seconds of time loss at most. The bigger time factor would be the version of the game you're playing on. This is mainly due to menuing differences and level loading differences between versions. Gamecube and Dreamcast would be the best versions based on those factors. Also, the rickshaw is definitely faster than the cab, so much so that it is really a separate category. I would personally say just go for the 150yd fastest jump and move on, but that's more because I don't want to see you become stuck on one silly section of the game so early on.
