When the thread I created to discuss site policies with regards to staff member behavior finally starts to have an actual discussion between the members of this community, it gets locked. Are you serious? Lots of new points were being raised, and people were actually discussing things. Now you have forcefully stopped them from being able to express their opinions in the proper context. You have stopped me from being able to respond in the proper context. At the very least I would have liked to apologize to adelikat for jumping to conclusions and mischaracterizing him, but now you have stopped me from doing so. (I apologize here for it, but I would have liked to do it in more detail, actually responding to what he wrote.) Nobody was out of line. There is no reason to lock that thread. Locking it only gives a negative picture of the moderators. Please unlock it.

The important parts of the topic were covered. The site admin had clarified their stance (and the situation), and we have addressed how everyone can handle situations like these better. The only other thing to take away from the topic is that we should all treat each other with respect (including, yes, site staff should treat all members with respect as well), but that should be a given. Again, if there is a problem with site staff, we addressed in the topic how to handle that without having a single site admin take it and end up ignoring/dismissing it. On behalf of adelikat, I'll say thanks for your apology, it was indeed something that would still have been worthwhile, but with that, I do believe the topic has fully fulfilled its course now. I'm keeping the topic locked, because if it is open, it just becomes an invite for further people soapboxing about all kinds of situations that are best resolved in private. Again, those should be handled in the way that was addressed in the topic. Please let it rest now. The topic has served its purpose.
