Every time you pause in Bizhawk, it takes around 7 seconds for the pause screen to actually come up. This causes some problems with TASing, since we have to go out of our way to not pause due to it taking so long. I think this problem has always been around with Bizhawk, but I'm not sure.

I was able to fix another emulation error (very minor issue) but I still haven't found a setting that fixes the pause glitch.

Can someone please explain the situation about N64 and plugins? I see the "use different plugins" reply more than once, and I'm really curious how that even affects things. I thought they were just for graphics? Or was I wrong?

they affect timing as well and fix and break various things. the plugins dont just render graphics, they emulate large sections of the display hardware
