Hello, I am a long time lurker and admirer of TAS' and I thought I would give it a go and dip my toes a little. I would like to start working on a movie for an RTS game, any will do at the moment however from what I can gather MSDOS and WindowsOS emulation is a bit finicky especially with stuff revolving around mouse control? I don't mind which RTS I start with but I wanted to stay clear from any console ports as they tend to be the inferior versions. Warcraft Orcs and Humans would be a game I would like to start on, but I don't mind trying a more accessible game if there are big limitations. Could anyone please give me some insight on how the re-recording emulators are at the moment for these type of games on these platforms? I see a few threads scattered about but they seems to be very old. My second choice would be Warcraft III but I think I would need to play this through the battle.net client? would this be an issue with a Windows emulator? p.s. I am on Arch Linux if that helps or not. Also, any tips and tricks would be appreciated :) Many thanks.

I have been trying to import Warcraft Orcs and Humans as a HD disc image for JPC-rr and an error message came up saying "Too much data to fit into given space. [java.io.IOException]" the ISO files for the game are 562MB combined (WAR1.mdf and WAR1.mds) do I need to do something in particular to get it to import? I have the option to either "Dismiss" or "Save stack trace" StackTrace file states: Exception trace generated on 'Thu Jun 02 12:48:22 BST 2016' by version '29f61fc by Ilari Liusvaara on 2012-03-14 20:02:41 +0200' (release 11.7). Too much data to fit into given space. Assuming by RTS you mean Real Time Speedrun (aka RTA Real Time Attack), you can probably just go use DosBox 0.74. For TASing, use JPC-rr. If you can. (I can't.)

Have you read this section? From what I can gather, increasing the amount of tracks might help.

yeah, i have been going through that but the guide doesn't really tell you what to do is something breaks/doesn't work (which is understandable). I am at the bit where i need to create a disc image but apparently my file is too large????
