I'm trying to upload a run of world 1-1 of Super Mario Bros., but my file is awfully big - specifically 4750 kilobytes (even in a zip folder). The size limit is 150k. I don't really get this because some runs on this site are wayyy bigger. What's going on? Is there a way I can get the filesize down?

99 % chance of you trying to upload a video instead of a movie. Yes, the terms are a bit confusing. The movie is a sequence of recorded button presses. Which is tiny. The video is not.

If you're trying to upload a tasproj file from TAStudio, then in the TAStudio menu select 'Export to BK2' and you'll get a much smaller movie file without TAStudio-specific overhead. If you're trying to upload a video file (AVI/MP4/MKV/etc.), then we don't accept those, the site only accepts emulator-native input files (bk2, fm2, etc.), which are much smaller as they only contain input presses rather than video material.

Ohh wait, never mind. I had the fm2 file but I was trying to package it with the fm3 file because i thought people might want to edit it, silly me. Thank you! EDIT: Also, thank you Mothrayas for the project file compression method!

TAS Editor menu - File - Save compact. Greenzone - don't save. The site dues support fm3.
