hello I'm nearly done with the SNES version of BOF 1. However, it gets tedious around Auria because I need money to buy A gold bar. However, if the money glitch does work, I could actually buy TWO of them, greatly diminishing the finishing time. should I?

Do you need people to breathe for you as well as think for you? I think the answer is obvious, and you answered it yourself - its a glitch that saves time, so obviously yes you should use it. RPGs are longer than other games by nature, so anything that reduces the length is a good thing.

I disagree, the GBA version is like an "easy" version of the SNES version, i care shit about the money glitch, but i dislike the TASer to use an "easy" difficulty.

Do you need this sort of attitude? This is totally unacceptable, especially since I've helped YOU with an RPG.

Much as I love my BoF, an almost-the-same run of a four hour TAS doesn't seem like it'd be worth the time, and it might just be voted off after submission anyway. Does TASVideos even allow direct ports of the same game? Can't remember seeing any, at least.

No, you're right. I apologise for the attitude, I've just had things on my mind lately, but there was no need to lash out. I'm sorry.

If you wanted to tas the gba port, go ahead I'd say. I would disagree with it obseleting the snes run due to being, well, shittier, but you could realistically cut the run time almost in half thanks to the run button, and double experience.

Pretty certain that was only the BoF2 GBA port.

Late but this belongs here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/44922481 Basically you can use save corruption to bypass certain event triggers. It doesn't let you skip the whole game, since the game's flags are very rigid, but it does let you cut out a good chunk.
effort on the first draft means less effort on any draft thereafter - some loser

Quick test shows that RNG for this port is located and updated similarly to SNES version at addresses $800-$803 of IRAM. However, games starts burning RNs on title screen instead of after new game, and also the "pointer" address of the RNG appears to be missing (although its not like I actually tried that hard to look for it).
